A few quick questions.

  • Do the garages in SS have a TV and a laptop like the 10-cars in the city?
  • Can you set your garage as your spawn point the same as you can with an apartment?
  • What's your favourite place to live in SS with a 6-car garage?

I'm considering my 4th change of location. I've lived at Alta Street, and got sick of the construction site. I lived at Eclipse Towers, and got sick of griefing assholes who live there in less than 2 hours. I now live at Del Perro Heights, but there's an ugly building blocking my view of the beach. This time, I'm feelin' dusty, so what's your opinion?

-Sandy Shores has 2-car garages as well as a 6-car garage. The 2-car garage has, I believe, a laptop (or nothing at all) while the 6-car garage has a laptop and a radio. No TV. Every 2-car, 6-car and 10-car garage interior is the same. They use the same template for their own capacity (2-car garages all around the map are the same, etc.)

-Yes, you can spawn at your garage if you wish to.

-I'm pretty sure there's only one 6-car garage in Sandy Shores....no? Well, the one I had was down the street of the Sandy Shores LS Customs right in front of the industrial Survival area. It's great as you got loads of camping spots against players...who sadly don't come for you unless you have a bounty. Oh, there is one near the Fort behind a store and an ammu-nation (which isn't really Sandy Shores). That one is great as you got a river behind your place so you can use a Sandking and drive around in it, close to the military base for easy jet stealing and gun shop next to your garage. It's pretty sweet but the drive to the city sucks.

While you may want to live in the desert, I suggest you don't go there yet. The ride to the nearest LS Customs (if you live in front of the Survival area I mentioned) is a good minute which is a long time to drive to a shop compared to most places. I strongly suggest the 10-car garage right side of the map in the city near the LS Customs next to Down The Drain (Murrieta Heights? Think that's it). It's walking distance of a gun shop and an LS Customs. You're also 10 seconds away from a store to fill up on food and beer so that's nice. You got the highway for quick escapes or mountains while the city is in close range. It's by far the best spot to live with a cheap 10-car garage.

If you want a 6-car garage for the feel of it, though, I understand. So with that in mind, I suggest the one in front of the Survival are (Grand Senora Desert), down the road of the LS Customs (left on the map if you're looking at the LS Customs, should have 1-2 smaller garages next to it).

Thanks for the reply man. It's really disappointing that there's no TV, as I love tuning in to watch a player who's pissed me off somehow as I send a mugger and mercenaries his way. I guess I'll go scope this place out and see what it's like!

Yeah, it's a bummer there's no TV. That's one of reasons why I got a 10-car garage. The two other reasons is capacity of garage (I thought 10 cars was too much but now it's not enough!) and location. Location, location, location. The main reason you should move somewhere is location. Why do you want to go there? What's near? How far from the city are you? When you spawn, will you be in the middle of the action or safe? Are you close to the water? What about an airport of some sort? WHat good camping spots you got around the place? If someone is chasing you and you retreated near your home, what good spots could you ambush them?

You gotta think about that. Well, if you play like me which is paranoid and tactical. If you just want to move for the view...well, yeah there's that too. But I strongly suggest the 10-car garage one I mentioned. Never met someone that lived there or goes there (except you'll get some attention from the guys that go to the LS Customs but most times they'll ignore you if you do the same). You can land a Buzzard on the roof next door, no one knows it's there, stairs or ladder lead up to it. So you can land your buzzard, go in garage, look at TV for a victim, go out, take buzzard and be on your way.

Keep us (well, me, really) updated on what new place you pick. :)

I like the way you think, sir. I'm gonna jump in right now and scope this out. Thanks a lot for the tips, a gentleman, and a scholar.

DavieShredder

One of my characters has the garage at Murrietta Heights and for me, it's the best place I've had yet. Though I'll probably move back to a unit if the heist office ever comes into play.

If I ever get to unlock more characters, I'm going to be a bum at SS with a 2 car garage.

I ended up going for the exact garage that you recommended, and it's completely perfect. Exactly what I was looking for.

A few mates and I had an awesome time earlier holding down the building across the street from up on the roof. Awesome sniping spots, and all the amenities you really need are ten seconds away. I'll be staying here until the heists come out, I imagine. Who needs a virtual shower anyway?

Thanks a lot dude, you saved me a lot of GTA$ and time!
