Rooftop Rumble - Is it worth paying $1000 for a helicopter?

I was wondering if it was worth calling in a helicopter from Merryweather since the traffic is very frustrating and the SUVs seem to spawn in places where it is hard to dodge. But if you do call in a helicopter, you would end up making $17,750 instead of $18,750. What do you think?

No. The gun shots from the SUVs already spook the traffic, gunshots from the heli will probably make it worse.

Better question to ask is $1000 cash worth 20 seconds at best?

Low 2 minute runs with a Sports car are more than possible. 3 minute runs if you goof and/or have a bad group. 4 minutes if you're not trying to shave time.

You decide.

When you start the mission. Drive up the wall with the shrubs.

Then get off your vehicle and stand in the street not the sidewalk and call for merry weather helicopter and don't move until the cross on the minimap shows up.

Then jump up on ledge with shrubs(farthest from where you spawn) and shoot as many enemies you can. Any rifle will do fine.

Then run in and get the document and hop back over the ledge and by then the helicopter will be on the street.

Get in it and fly to madrazos.

It should take just around 2m or less.

Shaves about 20 seconds off a vehicle drive there.

So, once you get the package, you actually jump in your car and run for it, with the SUV's chasing you?

Personally, I don't.

After killing all of the professionals at the garage and picking up the dropped items and package, I simply wait... The 4 SUV's will come to you.

Take up a spot somewhere around the garage, get into cover and wait... Like shooting fish in a barrel.

After the 4 SUV's have come and their occupants are dead, I enjoy a nice leisurely drive up to Martin's house.

Your method is a time killer.

I kill about 80 per cent of the enemies in the garage.

The key to get the helicopter to land is to stand in the street when you call for it.

If you call on the sidewalk or in the garage it usually never lands.

I call it sometimes. It's not that bad and you dont have to deal with the 3 spawn points for the SUVs. It is only a 1000 so it's not a big deal unless your the type of person who sprays and prays and waste so much ammo that one round of RR pays your ammo bill.

No, I won't set any land speed records with my method, but I'm about getting everything I can from running the mission.

Those enemies are worth RP and can drop cash as well, in addition to the reward you get for completing the mission.

I also don't have to spend $1000 for a chopper, nor do I have to worry about being killed while running through traffic to get to Madrazo's.

But, yeah, if it's worth it to you to do the mission maybe a minute or two quicker, whatever floats your boat.

I Only Play For Cash As My Characters Are Ranked And Skilled.

To each his own... I have two characters both over rank 100 (one over rank 120) but, if I was "just playing for cash," I'd personally rather not spend $1000 on a chopper that isn't necessary.

Then again, like I said, I'm not trying to set any records in running it the fastest. I've never even been bothered to time how long it takes me... My goal is to get there alive, not quick.

Its only best if grinding away for along time.

If I were to just play it once I would just ride a akuma or bati

I'm so sick of that drive I'd rather pay the $1000.

I spent $1mil on the new jet just to have something to spend money on though, so money isn't as valuable to me, I was able to spend gifted hacker money on all my cars, which my stats show I've spent $11,000,000 on, so maybe if I was trying to save that up I'd be more thrifty.

From a mathematical standpoint it is worth it if you can knock 1/18 of the time off the job, but that total would include load time spawn mission screen ( in 5 min total that's about 20 sec). Say for argument you can do it 15 times in an hour. If by using the helicopter you can get to 17 times in an hour it would be worth it cause you would make an extra $20.5k ($37.5k - $17k). Even if you could get to 16 times it would be worth it, but only by a little more than a thousand bucks

Sorry littl more than two thousand bucks

What do you call a chrome paint job?

Everything in this game is unnecessary, except maybe ammo.

I feel it would be worth it to spend that $1k on the chopper, never thought about doing it like that but it would be less time consuming and worthy of being repeated.

Crepuscular

When doing it in a group one of us calls in a chopper from the Hospital Helipad and drives over to get it. The remainder of us get the document. Can get 1:30-2 minute runs doing this..

Paying and waiting for a helicopter is ridiculous.

Just drive the 45 seconds it takes to get to Martin.

Take the short route.

Rather spend the 1K on explosives.

I usually call Pegasus first thing for a Buzzard or Maverick and when I get the package I drive over to the hospital helipad to get it.

It's alittle longer than just calling Merryweather but I'd rather pay $200 than $1,000.

I've tried calling the merryweather pilot 4 or 5 times and everytime as I'm running out with the briefcase he's still f*cking around trying to land the stupid thing, blades hitting light poles and stuff.

As it is now, I use 1 RPG + a few dozen autoshotty shells ($572 seems to the usual number). So I make $17900 each time. Calling Merryweather doesn't seem worth it, for me.

In the hundreds of times that I've done this dumb mission I've only failed once.. and died maybe 4 or 5 times when those guys in the SUV were lucky enough to pin me against a wall and riddle me LOL

I never use the MW helicopter because the pilot sometimes takes 43 years to find a decent place to land and it's very frustrating. The drive is pretty easy and I'd much rather do that. Save the 1k.

If I feel like flying I just call my frogger and it lands at the hospital which is like 5 blocks away from RR. I usually just bring my Turismo or Akuma and just floss out though.

Obviously.

I'm just saying I've earned something like 6 million bones, I'm not fretting a grand. Spend the same amount on grenades for the grenade launcher half the time, what's another g? Just seems stingy.
