So... Ive had this thing since I was a n00b....

0_0.jpg

My buddy got attacked my Mercs when I was like level 5 and we held them off.. and stole their whip getting insurance on it... I was pretty impressed with my low level self for this feat. Thing is.. I dont think it is -that bad-.... tho it likes to roll.... Everyone talks up the Dubsta as the go to Jeep.... I like Jeeps... not much for trucks... If I go off roading I want a jeep or a rally car (my sultan) however when it comes to boulders and rocks... I cant rally car it up... I still want something that can go deep in the river (I have crossed the river by the military base in this mesa.... like water up to the hood and just drove out... so thats nice.. I like using this thing for missions and sh*t...

But... I would like some opinions... Pics... Flames... Intelligent comments... technical discussion... all are welcomed... even trolls... lets hear it.. Dubsta vs Merc Mesa.... Also.. If you have like... an other.... like I dunno another offroad whip.... lemme hear it... Tho I'd like the discussion to be mostly on Dubsta and Mesa

Dubsta. It's a Mercedes G-Class 463. It's fantastically beautiful and amazing. Plus it has decent mods.

Get the Dubsta unless you're a busta

The merc Messa isn't that good off-road, It rolls like crazy plus the only good thing I like about it is the roll cages

Thing is the damn Dubsta looks like a city slicker jeep.... the Mesa looks like a real f*cken Jeep... Military style... but I think I can mod the Dubsta enough to get it military worthy...

Had the Merryweather Mesa and got rid of it. Have the Dubsta 2 now. Also have the off-road Mesa, hardtop. I prefer the Dubsta (specifically Dubsta 2), though for looks the off-road Mesa wins.

Pretty much this. MW Mesa is certainly a looker, but it doesn't perform all that well off road, nor is it very fun to drive. Put a turbo on it, and be prepared to do a double barrel roll on every turn while at speed.

Even though this might upset the 'Granger people', IMO, the Dubsta is the SUV to get. It looks as well as it performs, and is probably the single most customizable vehicle in game.

Can't deal with that Honda Element box styling, just don't get it, so I could never own a Dubsta.

The Merc Mesa is a great looking but as others have said lacking in performance. It understeers like a Hotknife and rolls like a trailer in a Lester mission. Not much protection in FR either.

Dubsta is superior is effectively everything but clearance.

Merry Mesa has about a 20/80 AWD, while the Dubsta has a 60/40, this means that the Dubsta has a stronger pull on tough areas. The dubsta is faster, tougher, more customization options...

MW Mesa definitely looks cooler IMO. I think I might grab a Dubsta after reading this.

They both suck at off-road :/ Dubsta has no clearance and tips easily. As where the off-road Mesa has no power and tips easily. If i had to pick between them (i have both) i would have to choose the Mesa. It looks cooler, sounds meaner and is actually an off-road truck instead of a glorified road truck trying to go off-road.

Seeing as you allowed for an "other" option i would suggest getting a Patriot or a Beejay instead if you don't already have a Mesa or a Dubsta. Ranhcer and the Rebel are good choices a well.

Objectively speaking, either the Dubsta or something else.

The Mesa looks very cool. If it performed anywhere near to how cool it looks it'd win for sure. It's pretty slow though. It's alright for getting around the city, but beyond that, especially "offroad", it drives like crap, doesn't feel AWD at all, and rolls a lot.

The Dubsta does have a bit of a roll problem too, but not as bad as the Mesa. It feels faster and definitely handles better..

The Sultan, and some of the other AWD sports cars like the Elegy (and I think the new Jester is AWD, it certainly handles like it) are great for dirt trails and stuff, but obviously not great when you want something for more rugged terrain.

For real off road stuff, I'll always go for a Sandking SWB or the Rebel (I prefer the clean one, but it doesn't have as good cosmetic mods as the rusty one). They have good clearance (the Sandking has insane clearance) and are just generally phenominal offroad.

(p.s. - surprised by the poll results - if this thread had existed several months ago, the Mesa would be smashing it. Glad people have more sense now)

The only thing the Merc Messa has going for it is appearance. And that's subjective. It's rugged and cool for sure. That's as many award points as it's going to get. The Dubsta is the superior vehicle in every other category and is surprisingly capable off-road and for climbing inclines.

The Dubsta isn't the best choice for actual "off-roading" however it's good balance in power between front and rear tires makes it quite good when asphalt turns to dirt and sand. What's more is it can grind up some pretty hefty slopes without much effort and is quite a capable handler for an SUV.

Well, the Mesa does look pretty good, and I'd imagine is great if you want to do some military role play. However, it's slow, and handles badly even if you get round the corner without rolling it. The Dubsta on the other hand is highly modifiable, and competent on the road. However, it lacks ground clearance, a problem which is exaggerated when you put the custom bumpers on it, and does still roll a little bit off-roading.

My personal recommendation though would be the Baller 2. Looks great, is better on-road than the Dubsta IMO, and seems to have practically infinite power when going up slopes. Looks good blacked out too, and you can keep it nice and stealthy so you can blend right in.

More like the Dubsta is military compared to a Mesa we use black versions of these for urban and antiterrorism exercises.

Maybe if they let you lift trucks in the future the dubsta will be the better vehicle, but for now, the clearance of the mesa is too much for the dubsta. Both very fun in their own right, though I find the mesa to be overrated, while the dubsta to be underrated.

Thanks for the Feedback fellas.... been hearing lots of people liking the trucks for off road, Really? Like.. Im willing to switch to a rebel if i can boulder climb in it. Thing is I am tired of flipping and I have a sultan so I can burn dirt roads like nothin.... problem is rocks and cliffs and sh*t... I am starting to think there -ISNT- a ride for that sort of thing, however, I heard the Dubsta was magical in this field. So I thought to replace my Mesa....

The Rebel tho... the 4x4 one? Wonder if I can make it look like a military veh. I mean I could always go technical with it... African rebel style....

Technical-B_2Terrs_09.jpg4a2bcea6-1099-4

Too bad you cant mount a .50 cal on your bed LOL.... Oh well the debate continues... right now I might go home and pimp out a dubsta... But Maybe a rebel too... You opened up a new light... trucks.. might try them (only one i ever had was duneloader because you can take cover in the bed and use an AK when driving.

DAT DUBSTA 2... where you get it? Like... how different is it to the Dub 1?

Yo RediJedi or whatever yo name is.... did you even read a post I made? or you just read the topic and want to say some sh*t?

All I seem to do in the Sandking is roll it or lose power... it looks cool like the Mesa... but really? does it work? or you just sayin that cus you need a big truck to compensate.... never been a fan of trucks... ESPECIALLY big over sized white trash red neck trucks.... but like... if it works.. ill try it...

Ive tried a sand king or 2 in my day and not impressed.... maybe i need to give it another go.... I just usually see people rolling around in absurd colored abnoxious sandkings... almost hate them as much as adders.... chrome adders and big bright colored sand kings...

Yes, in my opinion it works. Sandking with stock suspension has the best clearance of any offroader (IIRC) which has it uses even if it isn't as necessarily powerful as some others

Get the MW Mesa. I don't like the Dubsta. It's a bread box with wheels that'd be an insult on a shopping trolley. The Mesa is a beast and it handles well if you know how to drive it. With the suspension down all the way, and power turns it never flips over for me. I agree it could be better off road, but I never go there anyway. Only two big cars that are good enough for me is the MW Mesa and the Sandking XL.

Backup Warrior

Clean Rebel. Your sh*tty RWD, weak easy to roll Mesa is rubbish and the Dubsta has no ground clearance and plus it's Snorkel doesn't work, which is BS.
