How does the radar work in deathmatches?

I've been playing this since the launch but i still don't get how the radar works in dm. Is it like in RDR that if you run fast and shoot your blip comes up on your opponents radar or is it just random? It feels like it's a total random thing when you see the enemy and when they see you and there is no tip or anything like in RDR.

So when they shoot their markers show and when i shoot my marker comes up?

So it doesn't matter if you run fast like in RDR?

Also, a new thing they've introduced is that if the player gets in your field of view, they appear on the radar. Helpful against snipers.

EDIT: Forgot to add that snipers don't like this new feature.

The new update made it that if someone is in your sight, they appear on the radar. It's why I don't play DMs anymore.

Your stealth stat is paramount for this. When you run or make noise you see a reddish circle around you which is the area of noise (lol)...it gets smaller the higher your stat

i'm not sure about running

i know there's a circle around your marker when you run, but it's really small, so it could just be a radius thing

Ok, so in theory, you could sneak around unseen a whole match without ever appearing on the enemy radar?

I used to think the same...but it really doesn't change much.

For one, they have to be moving moderately. Slow walking is still effective. As are silencers to a degree.

And who can forget that people still whore Lester out anyway...

So I still keep playing DM/TDM/captures...gotta catch 'em all get those skins & earn that team carrier award.

Unless you move into someone's field of vision or you fire an un-suppressed gun (I think even with a suppressor, you appear on nearby radars).

EDIT: Also, if you get enough kills without being killed yourself, you appear on every radar no matter what you do and have a small bounty put on you.

Yes, but trust me. You will die. A lot. IMO sneaking only works in small doses.

The best thing is still to be offensive & push your enemies into a corner. It doesn't matter if they can see you on the radar (unless you're playing a camping DM, which blows in of itself), as you will be able to as well as soon as they make their move.

Yeah i know, i just wanted to be sure how that radar worked cause it appeared to me that it was completely random when you see them and they see you.

It's much better the way it is now in my opinion. I'm nearing 500 played DM in total and it's no longer people going outside of the DM area and camping with the sniper.

The blip system has always been screwed because of the 'show all player blips' option. It shouldn't last for a whole minute, 10 seconds at most.

I agree radar can be a little funny at times but i just treat like any other deathmatch control the map or hot areas

I don't think a lot of players abused it in DM. They abuse it in LTS, which is the worst game mode in the entire game.

It's spammed in DMs too, but in LTS it's more noticable, because there is more space between shooting.
