I am currently doing an illegal activity

One of my best friends left for the weekend on a romantic holiday with her girlfriend to Venice. My best friend gave me his house keys and told me to take care of his dog.
While i was filling the dog's bowl with food i found my friend's car keys. My friend works as a Taxi driver and he owns a taxi similar to the one i am going to show you:



So i thought to myself, hmmm what if i take his taxi and work as a taxi driver for more non stop until tomorrow night... I can make a lot of money.

So i went to my friends garage, turned on the the Taxi's engine and spent 30min learning how does did the taximeter worked. I looked online on my smsrtphone on the different fares. After that was done i headed to the Barcelona's international airport and here i am waiting for passengers.

I don't know what happen to me if the cops ask for my taxi licence BUT i actually need the money.

I am going to divide my experience into two parts; Passengers and the money I made.

First of all I worked for a total of 12 hours (With some stops) and had about 14 customers. I am just going to write the best parts

 

Passengers:

 

The couple from Liverpool:

I was line up in the taxi stop in the Airport past midnight until it was my turn to get passengers. They got in and told me to go to the Hilton Hotel in Av. Diagonal. On my way I asked them if it was their first time in Barcelona and they said yes. We started chatting about things they could visit and places where they could have a nice meal and not the tourist rip-off they do in tourist areas. I asked them where they were from and they replied they were from Liverpool, I asked them if they liked football and they said yes but they were from different teams, She was from Everton and He was from Liverpool they said that sometimes they have had discussion due to football matches (LOL). When we got there, I charged them the price and I decided not to charge them for the luggage since they were nice guys and they were my first customers.

The rich old ladies:

After I dropped the last passengers, I decided to go to the areas where there is a bit of night life so I drove directly to Las Ramblas, and, when I was near El Liceu (Opera house) I got stopped by two old ladies who where dressed in a very wealthy way. They told me to drive them to Sant Cugat (30km)… I didn’t like it since Sant Cugat is a town near Barcelona but it’s only residential areas which meant, that after the drive up there, I would have to drive back to Barcelona. Sant Cugat is a very wealthy town where a lot of rich people live. Both of them where behaving like idiots since they were complaining about everything, one even said to each other; “Next time we will take the car and we will get home faster than with a taxi..:” I didn’t feel like saying anything because I could have make everything worse since I don’t have a license. We got there and they left feeling important… Idiots honestly.

 

The group of girls:

Once I got back from Sant Cugat to Barcelona, I picked up a normal guy and took him to some street. Nothing interesting about this pick up, the following was more exciting. I got the stop sign by a group of 4 girls dressed for a party. I stopped they got in and I immediately froze… I knew one of them from high school. (OffTopic: It’s been three years and a half since I finished High school and I haven’t seen this girl for like 4 years since I started high school in one place and then changed school).
Anyways, they got in and I asked “where to?” This girl immediately recognized me and asked me “Luis what the hell are you doing driving a taxi?” I told her that this was my job now and she was surprised. They told me to drive them to Clubs in the Port and off we went. We spent a lot of time talking to each other and finally got there, and I charged them the normal fare + night service and they left and that’s it.

The “office” guy:

I was started to getting a bit tired and decided to head home to get some rest. While I was near the FC Barcelona stadium (C/Arizala) A guy came out of a famous brothel and told me if I was available. I asked him where he was heading and since we has heading to the town next to mine, I agreed on taking him. You could see on his face that he was high and had been drinking more than two cocktails. Suddenly his phone rang and He yelled; “I just finished the meeting at the office I will be home as soon as possible stop being annoying”… After he hanged up, I couldn’t avoid asking him “Tough day at the office huh? LMAO”. He told me; “Funny…keep driving come on”. We got to his house and I dropped him.

The rest of the customers where very normal people. I had a total of 14 customers, here is a list of the money I made:

Money I made: 390€

Total Tips: 100€

Money I had to spend on food: -20€

Diesel for the Taxi: -50€

Cleaning taxi -3€

 

TOTAL: 417€ not bad at all since I am a nice guy I serviced the taxi before leaving it on my friend’s garage (Tyre pressure + check oil + pump in gas + cleaning)

If your friend is a regular at the Airport, won't the other taxi drivers be suspicious you're using his cars? I know that back in Brazil it's pretty tough to become a taxi driver with all the unions and companies and such, so everyone pretty much knows everyone else in their region.

You are using the meter. Have you considered (I guess not) how the extra mileage and the meter totals will be explained when your (now former) friend returns to work?

As long as you dont get pulled over you should be fine. I'd be extra careful not to go over the speed limit etc as not to cause any extra attention towards yourself.
