To make v0.01 July build playable I used v0.02 executable. Something has been patched inside executable to make it compatible with v0.01 resources (world streaming mostly), but also something has been patched in resources to make them compatible with v0.02 executable (rebuilded sample sata table and few missing things). I think something like this also should work for the May build

Thank you very much. I have managed to get it working and play the July Build but unfortunately it is not possible to play with a physical PSP. Upon loading it up, it displays loading screen as usual, but after that, the PSP turns black screen and then it shuts itself off. So it's definitely not possible to do so, only with the PPSSPP emulator.

This is a Update Log #1 to the whole concept if it is possible to 100% the July Build, for those who are curious:
The anwser is no. It's probably not a big surprise considering it is directly 3 months before the direct release of the game on PSP and since it is relatively made to experiment with it's features, it is unfortunately not possible to legitimately 100% it without completing it fully by repeating missions instead with the Debug Menu. There are interesting crashes and tasks I tried doing, however some of them I discovered something new upon my playthrough, I have currently "unlocked" Staunton Island, so that's where I have my stop there ATM.

First of all - some of Main Missions and Side Missions are utterly broken. One of these examples are Punk Noodles, which upon entering it's scooter vehicle, the game gets stuck into a endless loop. Nothing else can be done other than driving around, and dying/getting busted just cancels the mission. Car Salesman and Bike Salesman are impossible to do, as if you reach Level 4 on Car Salesman, game becomes very unstable and crashes when attempting to do any of them. The bar stops filling up after a while making it impossible to do so, and around 14 Sales on Bike Salesman, it also crashes as well. However, Avenging Angels has a extra cut dialogue when completing Level 15 on Portland Island, as one of them says: "Good work my friend, this neighbourhood will be quiet... for now atleast." I haven't done the Staunton Island yet but I'll see if it is the same dialogue.

There is one nasty spot that completely softlocks/crashes your game entirely, and that is where you have to go through Harwood where the Ferry Terminal is located at, I had to use a different route to finish Rollercoaster Ride and Driving Mr. Leone that way, so avoid at all cost if you don't want your game to crash (atleast for me). Salvatore's Salvation, Sindacco Sabotage are impossible to complete as they will turn black screen after finishing a certain sequence, such as cutscenes, they completely make your game unusuable until you reload your game. There are some features and cutscenes also added that were removed from the September Build, like the money stash in The Trouble with Triads, or in Driving Mr. Leone where the Federals are waiting for Salvatore.

It was probably noticable earlier in older forum posts, yes, the Go Go Faggio minigame is replaced by PCJ Playground instead, and has a timer of 100 seconds. It is tidious to do so as there are paths that are very short, which made me attempt it 4 times. Of course the Hidden Packages when you gather a different amount of them, displays for example: Grenades, SMG, etc. Unfortunately it does not happen, as they are the same Hidden Packages rewards as usual, so I am afraid Minigun isn't included (unless it will be proven if it's true or not). And unfortunately one of Rampages in Portland, where you have to run over pedestrians, turns your game into black screen. So much for free M60...

That's it for now for this Update Log #1, as it is certainly interesting however it feels understandable that this is very in-complete build. Later more in upcoming days.

Good to know. I bet there are even more differences in the May build. I wonder if it's far back enough to where you got GTA III textures everywhere.

Seems like it has GTA3 roads and so on, plus GTA3 looking timecyc.

WARNING,if you happen to run in on a PS Vita and exit the game normally on version 0.02,it will soft lock the console and you will have to unplug the battery from the inside unfortunately.Its boot loops the Vita and it blinks blue light but it doesn't shutdown the console.Only way to bypass is to have the cheatdevice remaster on and exit the game from there and there won't be any problems.

July build still has a lot of GTA 3 textures, and from what I've seen in the files, May even more so, yes

I don't know if this sounds unnecessary but i thought of request for lcs pc edition mod. Like making beta Toni for pc edition like with his beta design with early face (cstester one and the other beta Toni from May build) like make recreation of beta Toni would be cool and the beta Sal too as we have one early screen of him with different face i know modding is not easy and will take time but it will definetly worth it (similar to how the beta Tommy was made with full outfits in the Beta Edition mod)

 

I hope some modder considers my idea

Please guys, I really wanted to play the first prototype version released of GTA LCS on the PPSSPP Android emulator, I believe it is version 0.01, but there is a problem, I don't have a PC to apply the correction patch, only unipatcher compatible with .xdelta patches and if someone can send me the ROM 0.01 already patched and I hope grateful and very much! Can it be? I only want 0.01, 0.02 and above I don't want!

Dayum, it's crazy to think that one studio alone put so much work into the game under 5 months that it went from looking like this to what we got in the end. Props to you for getting this build to run, though. 👍

 

R* sure had some speed back then.
