I don’t know what happened, but later on I’ve tried again without replacing those files and it has worked as well lol. Now I have two ISOs, both are working 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe just lucky, but anyway CUTS.IMG must be replaced because DIR file located in GAME.DTZ(DAT). CUTS.DIR just a leftover

I made another ISO following your updated instructions and all worked like a charm.

 

Thanks again for all your work and contribution on Stories games - without you this 0.01 build content would not be playable!

Anyone figured It out who the hell is this supossed to be?the most argued candidates are beta Vincenzo and Donald Love(even though It looks nothing like him),It could also be a multiplayer artwork but I doesn't fit any mode we know of,and maybe It's Franco Forelli as there are files mentioning a model for him

I don't know what to say about that.

I have a theory that those builds (as incredible as they are) are actually just for authenticating the product with SONY , since they have ID's (ex ULUX-80146) and that's probably why they are VERY identical to the final release.

I'm afraid the more prototipical stuff is still in R*s vault....

Maybe, but I don't know if these builds necessarily hint at that. Seems pretty much like what you'd expect, assets ported over from GTA 3, which over time got replaced with new ones. Minor adjustments in the grand scheme of things, but there is a LOT of them.

I noticed the post! If you happen to spot any other notable landmarks that were changed, please do write them down on the talk page too. I've been adding stuff to those pages at my own pace, trying to focus on the story missions right now, so I haven't compared the map much myself.


Might as well point out a few things from the July build that I don't think I've seen mentioned here.

-The Bus can be seen in traffic like normal. Maybe in the September build too? Not entirely sure on that.

-Ambulance and Firetruck had radio, but not police vehicles.

-In general, I noticed a handful of things changed to make missions flow a bit better. For example: The sawmill gate opening in Dead Meat was a little cutscene, as was dropping the girls off at the picket line in Ho Selecta! In Overdose of Trouble, you'd be stopped in your tracks at Hepburn Heights and Maria's apartment for Maria to deliver her lines in cutscenes.

-For The Sicilian Gambit, they originally gave you a rocket launcher for the boat section! So glad they changed that, it was a huge pain to try to hit the boats with rockets when the waves were bouncing you all over the place. Not only that, but instead of having to kill two guys on the lighthouse pier, there were four guys dotted around lighthouse you'd have to blow up too. The final showdown was very clearly unfinished too, since Torini was just standing on the ground, armed with a pistol and could just be one shot.

Oh in Portland as you approach the Callahan Bridge, the signs for Westport bridge are still in their places. The textures had been ran through MS paint as the "Westport Bridge" are painted over but the rest of the texture is intact on each one. I'll get photos of them in a minute.

I'm also thinking about Franco Forelli. In the "Shoot the Messenger" mission, you need to kill Forelli Wiseguy. If he is not killed, he will arrive at the Fort Staunton restaurant by the end of the mission.

Yes, it crashes because of a bug in world streaming (sector streaming callback fail) currently Idk how to fix this. Anyway v0.01 and v0.02 are too different in case of world streaming, fortunately it works somehow without rebuilding level files

Sorry about that, it works perfectly now.

 

I got out the 0.01 files, manually replaced the contents and then made an .ISO with UMDGen. Instead of that, I now just replaced all the stuff within UMDGen itself after loading the 0.01 ISO, and everything works. You're a legend!

 

I will now test "False Idols" and "Bringing the House Down" to see if there are any problems, but I doubt that.

BTW False Idols and Bringing the House Down now works fine.

I'm wondering if the game at that point relied on the extra resources the Sony development kits had that you won't find on the retail PSP.
