I know the wikia is never to be a valid source, but...

At first I'd discount it as dumb fanon, but the source (dead link btw) goes to Josimar's site, which had a bunch of old beta stuff from IV and V uncovered, so does anyone have anything saved from Josmiar's site regarding LCS? Any other beta UI and stuff like he had for IV and V or just the billboards? I also managed to find one so winner winner chicken dinner

It's worth noting some of the hooker ads he featured on the bottom of this Manhunt 2 collage were also used in LCS in some places (and the band "Rubber Fist" were mentioned on Paulie's Revenue Bar website)...

How did u make these textures? Are these .pvr textures? I wanna edit .pvrt textures with PVRTexTool but found they cannot be showed correctlyin game.

I made them with pvrtextool, yes. The way I did it was to encode the original PNG texture with ETC1, then save the resulting texture as a legacy pvr file. The pvr file you get should be 10.7kb. It didn't work for me any other way.

Cut undercover police from VC in LCS

PS: It's not a fake, it's just LCS on PPSSPP with PS2 assets & Cheat Device…

Nice! If I'm not mistaken the vice squad models are still in the gta3.img file for LCS.

Was there ever meant to be a ferry terminal in shoreside vale? The Bradygames guide mentions towards the beginning that, when shoreside vale is unlocked, you can take ferries there from staunton, but in the final version that isn’t the case

There's a difference on the copcars

Beta Copcar has these additional emergency lights, just like the GTA III version

to this day i dont know why they picked that other awful model

i remember when i replayed Vice City like 3 years ago, i download some others textures including that M4 and i loved them so much

Ok this is a post about some facts and theories about the cut Cyclone GT, the cut red car from beta, and how it revolves around the Hellenbach GT, I considered posting this here so it doesn't end up getting lost.


 

  • Leeds vehicles have real life inspiration car names in the files, the default.ide, texture names, and the GXT

  1. Phobos is PONTIAC, and the texture name of the interior is Firebird
  2. V8 Ghost internal name is Esprit and the texture name is Lotus
  3. Deimos SP name is SPIDER, and the texture name is Ferrari F355
  4. Lancer MF1 name is MCLAREN, notice this one does not even have a model, and the GXT name is MCLAREN but the name contained in the GXT string is Lancer MF1
  5. There are GXT entries for SUBARU, SUPRA, AND SKYLINE, and CYCLONE but the strings those entries contain are the real life names still, unlike Lancer MF1
     
  • The Hellenbach GT we know from final game, is internally named SHELBY, but the texture name and the model don't add up. The texture name is Typhoon, which is pretty close to Cyclone, and also the car is based on a 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator

  • That red car picture from beta, it's based on a 1970's Shelby Mustang, and this should be the model the Hellenbach GT is taking the name from

  • The name Cyclone GT from the text files might be referencing the 1970's Mercury Cyclone GT

My theory is that the red car "Shelby2 was supposed to be the actual Hellenbach GT model, the texture should have a name such as "Mustang" but it doesn't, and then final Hellenbach GT has a texture name called "Typhoon" which is a pretty similar concept to what a Cyclone is, also Final Hellenbach GT seems like the rear was made shorter

Final Hellenbach GT (Mercury Cougar Eliminator) earlier could have been based on the Mercury Cyclone GT, and looking at the texture name, it was likely to be called Typhoon/ Typhoon GT

The model and texture, ended up replacing SHELBY model and data lines, so that could explain why it doesn't get called Mustang internally.

 

At some point, both vehicles could have coexisted at the same time
