Although the game can be saved. Probably, this happens if you run a police sub-mission exactly at the time Landstalker falls. diogohilton Posted June 25, 2020 Share Posted June 25, 2020 (edited) I don't know if it has been referred on here, but I was lurking through the game files and on the mission Sayonara Sindaccos, there's an unused Toni line where he says "I thought you said Yakuza would do the heavy work" (right after they arrive in Torrington), to which McAffrey replies "adapt and survive". On the final mission, Toni's line doesn't play but McAffrey's does. Does that mean that the Yakuza would originally appear in the mission? First of all gta3.img contains a model for a colt 45 as well as the standard glock: However, if you have a look at Models -> Generic -> Weapons.dff, you can find a model for ANOTHER colt: This colt is bigger and longer than the one above. It's very similar (if not the same as) the colt Ray has in the cutscene for "Crazy 69". These are named IZ_mpFlat_01/02/03/05, jm_mpFlat_04 and ca_mpFlat_06/07/08 in the game's files. All eight models are totally unused. I found their placement lines in the unused "leedsbits2.ipl" file and decided to move them to a "used" .IPL to see them in-game. Here's a set of screenshots if you want to have a closer look at them, the image is pretty big so open the Spoiler tab at your risk: Spoiler Just like all other mission-related cutscene interiors, only the floor is solid, the rest of the stuff isn't. One interesting fact is that all eight interiors share one common thing: A rotary telephone. And judging by the subtitles I've seen for the opening cutscenes of the multiplayer gamemodes, it's very likely that Salvatore would've contacted the player through this phone in the cutscene. Good guess, but no, the multiplayer in LCS PSP is pretty basic: Up to six players join in and play pre-defined game-modes, that's all. Guest Posted March 20, 2021 Share Posted March 20, 2021 I've found some unused sound files related to a cut boat racing side-mission like the car and bike ones in the final game: STRE_CA - Street Racer: "There's gonna be a boat race," STRE_CB - Street Racer: "and I ain't talkin' about no regatta!" - Fun fact: The word "regatta" means rowboat racing. STRE_CC - Street Racer: "This one's strictly for serious capitanos. Comprende?" Maybe it was cut because of the gas pipeline barriers separating the islands and possibly because of the rarity of parked boats spawning across Liberty City's waters? Whatever it was, it certainly would've been really cool to actually race boats, don't you think? Oh, and here is some unused stuff related to "A Date With Death": TOSH3GA - Toshiko: "We're not going to make it!" (Used) TOSH3GB - Toni: "Of course we're going to make it!" (Unused) And then there's this, it must've been meant to used if Toshiko's Stretch caught fire: TOSH3DA - Toshiko: "TONI, WE'RE ON FIRE!" But that's not all, "Cash in Kazuki's Chips" has some weird unused groaning sounds for Kazuki, named "TOSH4BA", "TOSH4BB" and "TOSH4BC". Maybe these were meant to be scripted to play if Kazuki received damage, attacked Toni with his Katana or perhaps something completely different? You decide. Also, Kazuki's "Kill him, you assholes!" (TOSH4DC) line has two other unused variations where he just says "Shoot him!" (TOSH4DA) and "Kill him!" (TOSH4DB). Anyway, onto other unused dialogues, "Grease Sucho" was originally supposed to feature this: MAC3_BA - Toni: "Crash and burn, greaseball!" It's obviously aimed at Sucho, and it was either meant to play in the little cutscene after winning the race or after killing Sucho. On the contrary, here are two funny unused dialogues from "A Whole 9 Yardies": RAYS2BA - Forelli dude #1: "Hey, it's Cipriani!" RAYS2BB - Forelli dude #2: "Heh-heh, Salvatore's lap-dog!" Well, that's all of what I could find. I might throw in some more finds later on. Stay tuned. Guest Posted April 1, 2021 Share Posted April 1, 2021 Did you know the skyline outside Toshiko's apartment window in LCS is actually a geographically-incorrect mockup attached to her apartment model? In this BETA screenshot depicting Toshiko standing by her apartment window, only the "366" building is visible outside: Judging by the sunset and the "366" building's left side opposing the window, the apartment is in the northern part of it's building and it's window faces North. Looking into the map files, I noticed the apartment model's placement coordinates on the map surprisingly match the BETA screenshot with no differences at all. This also means the window overlooks the small parking lot between Toshiko's apartment building and the "366" building, which matches the ending cutscene of "Cash in Kazuki's Chips". But in the final game, the uppermost chunks of the AmCo. offices and an adjoining skyscraper are visible too: Oddly enough, the said two buildings are located across the street from Toshiko's apartment building and the "366" building, towards West. Also, the mockup buildings are attached to the apartment model as if they're being viewed from inside the "366" building. Conclusion: R* Leeds were fine with the current location of Toshiko's contact point until very late in development, when they decided to move it to the "366" building. Now, the logic required the window to face West, which in turn required the cutscene animations to be rotated 90 degrees to the left. But for whatever reason, they couldn't manage to do that. Go figure out. So, they went the yolo way as usual, cheaply slapped the two buildings in and then somehow forgot to move the rest of the contact point along accordingly.
