Getting shot by crew members

Is it just me or is it fair to assume that someone in your crew is NOT going to shoot you?

 

I'm encountering morons in my crew who are just shooting me on sight. I asked one lad what the f*ck he was doing and that he is in my crew and he hadn't a clue what i was talking about... I had to explain to him the tag after his name and the red semi-circle around my blip etc...I thought he was an isolated moron but I encountered another couple of lads tonight...one of them I protected from a higher level while he was delivering a car for Simeon...I was going to give him a lift back from the docks but he just shot me dead...and then kept trying to shoot me.

 

I can't even find them on SC to give them the boot.

 

Does anyone else have any hassle of these type of muppets?

 

Is that not more or less why you join a crew - to back one another up, do random stuff, NOT turn free roam into a death match?

I must admit that the first time I saw a member of my crew I thought that was a normal player with a bounty and killed him lol

I only encountered once a low level of my crew that killed me a couple of times, the rest are friendly.

Normally I just look up for the names that recently joined my crew. Just spot newcomers and if I get shot by a new crew member, I know where to start the investigation.
It's pretty annoying when your crew fellows decide to shoot you with no reason.

i had this issue... i agree... i instantly assume my crew members are going to be friendly and not shoot.

 

i have no issue with battling a crew member under the circumstances we both know that were battling out of fun, but not when its some cheap shot sneaky sh*t and u get shot out of nowhere...then i get kinda pissed...

it really depends on the relationship you've established with the crew member..

if youve played several sessions together you know what to expect and whats pushing the limit...

 

i also have the problem in free roam where say a group of six of us is hanging around, and one/two pplayers start shooting out of boredom, so u get shot (which isnt a big deal) and only half want to shoot each other... i come out the gates and shoot anything moving, then get questioned why i killed someone else who wasnt shooting and being friendly lol... i find it best to just go passive in these situations because the mixed emotions where u dont know who to kill and when. then it lets your team mates know your not in the mood to shoot it out also..

I often approach crew members and offer them a lift, only to have to gun them down because they just love to shoot at anything.

That's why I have no one except a friend in my crew and put it on Invite Only. GTA MP has always been shoot-first-ask-questions-later (or the rare but fun GTA IV guy that honks his horn at you to get in or he'll shoot you). The amount of people that just kill you is amazing. My old crew (with friends from the net) was like that, which is one of the reasons I left. They'd shoot me, I'd be pissed, tell them why you do this? and they'd say sorry. I'd be cool with it, act chill, 5 mins later, they'd kill me. It's really annoying when you're losing money and trying to do something. Like, who the f*ck wants to die, come on lol.

You should consider joining a legit crew, there's tons of them on these forums. I would stay away from crews like Payne Killers and IGN, most of them don't know/care about their crew members, or even know what a crew is about.

At first I assumed you were talking about one of the big sh*t crews, like ign or qotd (kidding, queens, you lot are awesome) but I see you're talking about your own crew...

 

It hasn't happened a lot with SURF but when it does, yeah, its really hard to find and kick the culprit when their RSC name is different from their gamer tag/psn Id. If I was starting over I'd have a rule that RSC profiles must be set to open, at least to crew. Frankly, r* should allow crew leaders at least to see that info. Maybe not all linked accounts like fbook and twitter but at least console id.

It depends on what kind of crew:

 

A crew of your close, real life friends: yeah, of course you'll get shot, but it's all in good fun! (this is the case for the crew I'm a part of - we've all known eachother for about 10 years and know eachother IRL)

 

One of these GTA-born mega-crews: yeah, of course you'll get shot, because the other person doesn't know you and doesn't care.

The two crews that I'm part of within GTA Online both have a strict rule of 'no killing members of the same crew' and both crews hold this rule to heart and never forget it. If a member happens to kill another member intentionally, it's open season after that, between the two members, considering If the member who was first killed even cares and It bothered him/her that much. Bounties are exceptions and a crew member can be killed, just to the bounty is off them. I always give 100% of the bounty back when I collect it from a member.

I told the first guy to feck off out of my crew. He said he would if I gave him in-game money. LOLOL

 

It was actually more fun to be able to locate him and Hound him with everything possible.

 

I hope R* add more options to manage crew from game options.

Yeah, tell me about it! I stuck my neck out for the guy haha. To top it off I had a sticky bomb on the car for pissing someone off at the right moment but I didn't blow it up because it was a crew member who took the car...

This is why at QOTD we are tight knit crew with a zero crew griefing policy.

We also make sure all social club accounts are linked so we can keep track of our members.

And lastly we have our own forum so we can easily communicate with one another and sort any issues that arise.

 

But yeah, having a organized crew has its benefits.

That's crazy, I just had this happen. I got friends of friends (half a color not blue) who I don't know in my crew and I had to kill because their friend (who's not in the crew) shot at or killed me or another crew member.

 

That was a mouth full, lol.

I was kinda enjoying trying to build my own crew until this sh*t started happening but I think I might join another...

 

What's the story with choosing a crew your in as "active"...does it just mean you'll have that particular tag after your name and so on...so you'll get thrown into sessions with this crew and have the red circle etc

 

I've never bothered to switch to another as "active"...does it work kinda the same as a character swap? Except its a crew swap...temporarily...

One crew I'm a part of I'm the commissioner and we have around 900 members so it's not easy to find people who kill you if you kill me once or twice i'll let it slide but after i send you a msg telling you that you are part of my crew then your done.

 

This happened to me back in November i was in Blaine County i had just come out of a mission and i was in the middle of nowhere and i didn't have a car nearby and they kept running me over i sent them a msg telling them to stop i was a crew member and there commish they sent me a msg saying f**k off and they killed me a few more times.

 

After i finally got away i went found them turns out they were both Lt. so i went and got revenge then i went then gave em the boot apparently they cared because both sent a msg to the leader boo-oohing the booted them from the crew the leader sent me a msg asking me why i booted his friends from the crew i told him he agreed with what i did and barred them from rejoinging

 

If you are having a problem contact the commish and tell him what's going on and most likely if he's a good commish he'll do something about it

Personally I'm in a friends only crew and we do shoot each other but just for good times. I don't like open crews because of the reason you experienced. Maybe try an invite only for your crew.

Its my crew...as in I created it...can't find them on SC because its different user names...there's only around 50 in the crew but I don't want to guess in case I get it wrong. All I'm doing at the moment is making free roam REALLY tough for them in the hopes they'll leave. (I'm actually enjoying it a little bit haha)

Yep, you'll have the tag of your current crew if set as active via RSC. If you change your crew whilst playing it will kick you to characters selection screen which then updates your character with the active crew you chose. You'll also have that red circle and most of the time you'll get thrown in lobbies that have some of the crew members
