Elegy has horrible handling

Recommended Posts

I don't know why people say it has amazing handling. It has amazing traction but horrible handling in general. I can't count the amount of times where I had to practically stop to be able to get around a corner. The horrible understeer and the horrible braking = good on straights/wide turns, POS on tight tracks. Not to mention that if you happen to spin out, you won't be able to counter steer yourself back onto the track. The elegy would be a good car if either the braking was improved, or the understeer was improved.

Edit: I took both the elegy and jester around a track.

Elegy (Tuned): 1:42

Jester (Tuned): Unknown

Jester (Stock): 1:48

So a tuned Elegy only gets 6 seconds over a stock Jester.

Yeah it has an understeer issue in tight turns.

But because it's less likely to spin out, and easier to power through the corners, people usually get faster times with it.

I use the Carbo. Carefully.

Yo, it´s actually the fastest sport car in all sorts of tracks except highway races, and it´s faster than many supers too. And all thanks to the inmense amount of grip it has. I don´t really know what you´re talking about.

yep what he said ^ Elegy has amazing traction and handles just great. If you're frequently having to stop or slow down alot to make most corners, then you probably dont know how to drive it

if not the elegy, what sports car do you think handles better?

backward_axis

I think it had a lot to do with the kind of racer you are. If you are the "hug the apex and use the whole road" kind of technical racer, you probably would like its handling. Personally, I think it is too much like riding on rails and much prefer the looser handling of a Coquette or Feltzer.

wow man 6 seconds is way faster.. especially if its 2-3 laps..

I have no idea what you're talking about, this is my absolute favorite car for drifting, followed cloosely by the F620.

It is a very good sports car, but it can be very difficult to handle at times. The understeer is just too insane to handle sometimes. You might even hit something because of it.

Yeah, but the Jester is stock while the elegy is full tuned. I am curious to see if the jester can take the lead in tight tracks.

It's the second best car in the game overall. It's behind the Entity but other than that it will achieve faster laps on tracks than any other car in the game. Unless it's a long straight-line race or a highway race, of course it won't do as well compared to the Adder or Carbonizzare, but generally it's better than pretty much any car.

I always hear that the Elegy's handling either sucks or it's really good. I personally think the handling on it is extremely good and to me it has better traction than the Entity. Yes, the handling isn't as sensitive as other cars and it feels a bit "heavier" but once you get used to it the car will fly through corners.

I actually once won a highway race with like 15 people with a stock Elegy. But then again I'm freakin beast. ;)

Yes, it is a very good car, but the traction is what makes it amazing. if it had crap traction, but same understeer and braking, then it would be really hated.

OP must have been owned by someone in an Elegy in a race.

It's one of the best cars in the game.

No, I just have to slam on the brakes and even possibly drift to get around some turns.

That's part of the attraction for the Elegy. It's not boring and planted to the ground like the Entity or the Adder.

The thing with the Elegy is that the brakes are atrocious. That in turn leads a lot of people to brake during turns, which leads to massive understeer. If you have the luxury of braking earlier, you can turn without having the brakes on and apply the power easier. The luxury of course would be not getting slammed from behind by another racer that can't seem to find the left trigger.

It´s not "very good", it´s dominant, sadly. Jester or Feltzer are "very good".

The understeer is there, but it just takes a couple of km to get used to it, and when you do it´s much faster than any other sportscar. Which is a shame because the class is pretty tight if you take it out of the equation. Not much between Feltzer, Jester and 9F.

I think it depends on the track (and driver) a bit. I'm sure I'd be faster around the Laguana Seca Remake with my Carbo than my Elegy.
