Smoke Screen in Races - Concept Video Inside

Let me set this up for you:

 

You're a L8 in a tricked-out Adder with NOS trying to win your 3rd straight Jumps Jumps Jumps race when a pair of white Adders try to take you out. You outmaneuver them due to your advanced driving skills but here comes a yellow Entity looking to take your spot. He unleashes his smoke screen which blacks out your screen for the next 10-15 seconds. You lose.

 

Entity beats you with a smoke screen.

 

I've heard it requested here before, but let's stop to think this one through...

 

Smoke Screen in GTA Races:

• Bought in LSC and equipped on your car ($20k base price)
• Unlimited use
• Stage I to IV mods, Stage I is light smoke, Stage IV is complete black out for 20 seconds or more
• Recharge period is 5 seconds
• Cost per use?
• Can be customized with Crew color smoke
• Can add oil to the mix so it permanently sticks to your screen (Stage IV)
• Also available in Freemode, but with a Stage V that can black out your screen for a minute or more

Thoughts, comments, suggestions??? Let's get together some good ideas to send Rockstar.

He is such a great guy, he rapid-fires ANYONE going to Los Santos with his tank, because they are obviously doing the selling car glitch!

I like the idea. It's already in use in Parachute jobs. However IMO the way you have it constructed it's far too OP. Incredibly OP and absolutely (race) game breaking.

 

Some thoughts as it needs to be toned down on the whole:

 

- Purchased on race menu instead (similar to ammo in missions/DMs)

- Side note: as per race idea (could be interesting in FR - purchased in LSC but must be re-purchased for a race - it is a crippling feature)

- Side note part 2: as per FR idea (pack of 3 to be re-purchased/re-filled at LSC)

- One time use per race (perhaps a pick up in GTA Style races or on the whole restricted to this race type only)

- No stages

- Expand upon use in Parachuting (wider, taller and darker than those contrails but definitely can't fill the entire screen - 65% seems acceptable to me)

- 5 to 7 second duration

- $20K price

- Toggle option in races

intersting on the purchase on race menu. could work that way, but something like this is useful in freemode too so you'd have it there in LSC as well.

the re-fill at LSC is interesting. like a weapon ammo purchase at ammunation, but this is a vehicle weapon, so you get it done at LSC.

Scuba what do you feel about tanks having this feature too? Tanks don't really have as much time as they should have when defending against cars coming up from behind. Think about it. Tricked out Turismo comes up from behind trying to bump you. God forbid they attempt to sticky the tank. All you have to do is press RB and poof, smoke and goop coats their screen for up to 10 minutes just for good measure. Sometimes, their screen will even freeze!

 

That'll stop people from attacking tanks while on their routine rampages.

ur right. tanks probably need something along those lines. smoke screen and oil jets. dunno about the 10 minute thing but it wouldbe good if it lasted beyond being wasted too. so even when you came back, ur screen was blacked out, progressively getting clearer over the next 5-10 minutes, unless u got hit again with the jet sprays.
