Ye, I know Im kinda late, but when I saw this game at 7$ on PSN store I was like hey give this game a try.

Its hella fun and the shooting gameplay is one of the most satisfying shooting Ive ever seen in any game.

It makes you feel like in da Matrix lol.

Im wondering why this game was never that popular at first or was it?

The areas and shooting sequences were hella epic and it makes you feel like in one of those hollywood action movies lol.

The graphics are superb and the music always fits.

The only bad thing about this game is the multiplayer but hell the online has always been bad in these kind of games so w/e.

Cant believe I got this game for 7$. XD

Because after playing for the first time you don't get the motivation to re-do it for a looong time. Same applies to games like Crysis 2 and Bioshock 2 too, good games but you do not want to play it again for a while.

It was actually popular for a while, not entirely because not many have actually played Max Payne until R* started marketing it plenty including after the first trailer of GTA V.

It's absolutely a great game and the shooting is the best I've seen in any 3rd person shooter to date (beats GTA V by a long run).

I still don't know what made the game go down in price plenty of times since release, but no one who's into that kind of genre should overlook those deals at all.

I bought it full price near release but really didnt like it, its more watching a movie then actually playing a game ( cant skip anything, this garbage ), To much based on terrible bullsh*t story which cant be skipped. Slow mo aint that impressive anymore and not much gore ( not enough atleast ) so still not really satisfying cuz slow mo + cool ragdoll and plenty gore and shoot legs of etc. would make this game way more fun. Multiplayer meh, its pay2win dlc and glitched stuff like cant kill people ( might be patched by now ). I know this is positive kinda topic but i would rate game 3 out of 10.

R* really f*cked up the marketing for this game. They shouldn't have pushed it down our throats the way they did, while just announcing GTA 5.

People really gave them hell on the Newswire.

It's an absolutely special and underrated game. MP3's gotta be one of my top third-person shooters ever (next to Resident Evil 4/5), and Max Payne himself would be one of my all-time favourite video game characters. Yes, the storyline was pretty much average and it could felt repetitive at times (campaign took me a couple of months to complete, since the shooting, though very good, started to get monotonous in the half), but Max's memorable lines, fantastic shooting mechanics, the new setting (can't quite understand people, who say it was a bad idea landing him in Brazil - maybe they just can't understand Payne is not all about New York City noir?), atmospheric cut-scenes (yes, I actually liked to watch them), soundtrack (the Bright Lights scene just raped my mind, as a big blues music fan) - those positive sides make this title a special thing for me. I wouldn't call Max Payne 3 one of the best of the last generation or anything, but definitely a solid game.

I've loved Max Payne since the first one. If you've been following the game from the start, you'd realise how much of an awesome character Max Payne is, badass to say the least.

On my third play through, and it's good. Sadly, I can't beat the last chapter because the game won't load the textures correctly and I end up falling into blue hell until the game freezes.

I got it the week it was released for $60 and it was worth it I've played through the story 3 times and I still regularly play a lot of the levels, its my second favourite 360 game and I think it is the best shooter I've ever played, the online multiplayer was great too.

Honestly I agree with Mcquiz. After walking by EB I bought it on impulse on release day - beat the story and haven't touched it in years. I don't have access to xbox live so no multiplayer for me; like GTAV, that's probably a limiting factor on how much I've actually played it. MP3 deserves all the praise it gets for shooting and storytelling though. Part of me feels the cutscenes moved too fast that I didn't catch the flashing words up on the screen when and where I should've and I missed out on some things because of that. Maybe it's worth a replay?

Yeah I agree its an incredible game. And I usually hate MP shooters but I actually liked MP3's Multiplayer quite a bit.

I got the game and all the DLC for less than $10 during the Rockstar sale on Steam a couple weeks ago.

I played it from the beginning to the end around the time it was first released on my friend's PS3, but I decided to get it for myself when I saw it on sale for such a low price.

The thing that I like about this game is the story telling. It's awesome. The thing I don't like is the gameplay. It's quite repetitive. The graphics are awesome, and it runs so well on my PC maxed out.

Can't believe this is the same RAGE engine which GTA IV uses that runs terribly. Rockstar Vancouver did an amazing job on this game overall.

I hope to pick up the other 2 Max Payne games soon as well =)

The game is very overrated.

It's great for a one time play through. After that you got to wait couple months to have fun playing it again. If you could at least use both stealth and run and gun that it would add a bit more replay value. Also this game was shoved down people throats so much. We went to the newswire for GTA V not Max Payne 3.

Yeah lets turn a game about shooting since the first one into a slow moving stealth game.

Lets see what if we turn TLOU 2 into an action adventure game which focuses on action would you be happy then because you now replay value.

See what you are suggesting? Turning an action game into a stealth game which puts everything Remedy made into trash.

I never said turn the game into it. Did you read what I said. I said they should of implemented a feature that allowed stealth. All the game felt was a repetitive wave base game.

TLOU is a stealth game but allows you the choice to play how you wish.

The day Max Payne has proper stealth is the day I hunt you down and hurt you. This game is supposed to be about shooting sh*t, shoot first and ask questions later. Not being a pussy and hiding behind a desk when you have the ability to slow sh*t down and cap motherf*ckers.

I bet people didn't complain about the first two not having stealth. It's a dark and gritty, third person shooter. It doesn't need a stealth component.

As for the thread yes it's great. I love the final kill cam. For pure ass whooping it's fantastic.

Pretty much this.

The game was born an Action shooter, The game mechanics all reflect near perfectly on the "Guns blazing" playstyle, Stealth in Max Payne would be like FPS Action in your JRPG...

Of course TLOU is a stealth game, it's a f*cking survival/horror type of game. Would you just suddenly jump in front of a Zombie/Undead and start teabagging them? No. Bad comparison.

Another thing about stealth being complete nonsense is Max doesn't have the ability to see/hear through walls like Joel in TLOU so level design would have to be altered considerably to allow any sort of stealth component which would ruin the fast flowing, adrenaline pumping feel of a Max Payne game.

It's simply not a game for stealth to work. Run and gun has always been apart of the Max Payne DNA.
