wasnt there suppoused to be altitude meters for planes?

i believe in the latest patch notes R* mentioned something about how they added altitude meters for planes. i havent seen it.. yet? where would it be? free roam? missions? where?

There has always been meters I plans since the game came out.....it's on the mini map. When in a plane you see multiple horizontal lines, there is an up arrow that starts down the bottom of the map. The higher you go, the arrow goes up untill you reach the max ceiling your plane or helicopter can reach before stalling out.

can't say for sure, but i think the lines measures off the Alt. in 1000ft per line. also shows if your leaning left/right (can't think of the correct name ATM), so if you can't see the ground then you know if your level or not.

Some people never knew. Took me awhile to actually figure it out and realized the lines actually worked and not just for show.

 

It's funny, the game never really shows you speed but you can find out your fastest speed or longest fall by feet in the social club website.

 

Edit: also the top line is the max height you can reach. I've tried going higher and had the military jet engines stall out and were unable to restart them back up at all.

ive litterally had the jet planes wings snap off once i tried going higher. i looked like a giant missle as a fell to the earth again. i was so shocked i couldnt/didnt even jump out...lol

I think you are referring to what rockstar added to player blips on the mini map when you are in an airplane.

It shows an arrow pointing down if they are lower than you, and an up arrow if they are higher than you.

It shows an arrow pointing down if they are lower than you, and an up arrow if they are higher than you.

 

They have that, but if you actually watch the mini map, there is an arrow that shows what your altitude is at

Attitude is actually an aviation term anyway so it would still make sense
