muddeprived
For some vehicles it seems like they are better in stock form than upgraded. For instance, the Dominator has pretty good handling and acceleration while stock but it lacks once you modify it. You spend a good second or two burning tires before accelerating and handling at high speeds sucks. It slides all over the place. I used to love the Dominator until I had about 3/4 of the upgrades on it and then it just plain sucked. I was crashing and sliding all over. Bleh Of course they should enchance the vehicles performance. I'll give you a tip about muscle cars I got from my dad:Muscle cars are exactly what their name implies. Muscle. So, when you take off in a muscle car, it has to overcome drag. Less muscle, less drag. So, the more horsepower you have, the more drag has to be overcome. This is because most muscle car bodies are not aerodynamic, resulting in said drag. That is why you burnout for a couple of seconds, because your car is overcoming drag. Also, not to mention Newton's first law. NorthwolfF

muddeprived
Feather the throttle and learn how to use the brakes. I do but I miss being able to drift it around corners. It seems like the roads have oil slicks all over em now and I can't drift like I used to. I was trying to do my usual corner-drifting during a mission with my buddy, who would always say I could handle the Dom better than him but he recently started sending me messages while I drive: "DUI" or "There's a steering wheel there for a reason". lol I guess I'll put it back mostly stock but I'm losing $$ doing so. numpy
Same problem with the elegy for me. Once fully upgraded it feels like it has the turn radius of a truck. Biggie Kaniff
hornedturtle
as someone who drives a rapid gt, don't go much higher than the 3rd suspension upgrade, and practice turning properly by heading away from the turn first and start turning before you reach the turn. McBean007
Upgrade all cars to max, the cars are not bad, its just the driver that makes it bad. On non-rainy days im good with all cars, on rainy days, im f*cked. Hard to control
-GXP-
Yes they should but I feel the performance mods need balance. It would be nice if the focus shifted more towards handling and stability, keep the top speed and acceleration for those who want it, but include the most important aspect of performance, the suspension. Maybe it's just me but I prefer handling over just having a fast 0-60 time.
coelacanth72
My buddy is a mechanic in Denver and told me about a rich dude who came in and wanted a stage 3 supercharger installed. The tech (not my buddy) asked him if he'd ever driven a stage 3 before, dude says "no," tech suggests that the guy take a class first. The guy flipped sh*t, wouldn't stop bitching until they took his money. He made it about a block away from the shop, romped the gas at a red light, and this little thing we call "torque steer" put him into a traffic light, totalling his car. Fast cars are hard to drive. Practice.

As to the OP, when you make cars faster they become harder to control. The Dominator in particular picks up a lot of speed due to its high drive force and low drag. You need to take advantage of this in the straights and use the brakes more and/or the throttle less in corners. If you can do this and keep it going in the right direction you'll be rewarded with race wins and good lap times. If you can't do this you're better off driving a low-risk muscle car like the Gauntlet.
