Planet Wars Forum Game
This game is set to be the follow up game to my highly popular World War III Forum Game my first game was good but the rules just didn't cater to its popularity forcing me to close the thread. This is the Planet Wars game and the rules are very complex and complicated at first so please take your time to read through them very carefully before joining in and of course follow the rules I have set if you wish for this to work.
The Rules:
Basic
- Each player controls 1 planet.
- Each planet has 2 stats: Military and Resources.
- When a planet's resources reach 0 or below, it is destroyed. The last planet that attacked it gets an increase in resources of 10 points.
- A planet begins with 30 general points that the player can divide into Military or Resources as they wish, when they create their planet in their first turn.
For example, create a planet with military=12 and resources=18.
- There's no limit to how many military or resource points a planet can acquire in the game. And stats can't go below 0.
Gameplay
- All planets are added to a list, each with their name and the 2 stats below it.
- The game is based on turns. Each turn has 2 moves.
- 1 move can involve an attack or an aid:
- You can attack another planet's military or resources.
- Or you can aid your own planet's or another planet's military or resources.
- This means you can use a turn for 1 attack and 1 aid, or 2 attacks, or 2 aids.
- The damage of an attack equals 10% of your military's strength number.
- The result of an aid equals 10% of your own planet's resources.
Of course, your moves don't decrease your own stats. They only increase or decrease another planet's stats.

For example:
Planet 1 has military=15
Planet 2 has resources=7
Planet 1 attacks Planet 2's resources in a move.
Planet2's resources drop by 1.5, that rounds to 2 points. So Planet 2 now has resources=5.
-The game uses integer values. Fractional numbers are rounded to the closest integer. To round a number, 0.5 and up will turn to 1 and anything below turns into 0.
This means that if a planet has an military of 4 or less, it can't cause damage until its military becomes stronger. If it has resources of 4 or less, it can't aid itself or another planet.
-The stats are considered to change after each move.

For example:

If you have resources of 14 and you aid yourself in your first move, you now have 15 (increase of 1.4 meaning +1).
If you use your second move to aid yourself again, you now have 17 (increase of 1.5 meaning +2).
Taking turns
- If the current number of active planets is 4 or more, a player can take a turn after 2 others have taken theirs, or after 5 hours from their own last turn if 2 others have not take a turn.
- If the current number of planets is 3 or less, each player can take a turn after 1 other player has taken their turn, or after 5 hours from their own last turn.
- To take a turn, you must copy the list of the last turn and write your changes. Indicate an attack or an aid by using a color (RED or GREEN respectively) for the stats that have changed. It is recommended to also write your own planet's name in bold.
For example:
(In Planet 2's turn, the player attacks planet 1's military and aids planet 2's resources)

Planet 1
military=10
resources=5
Planet 2
military=5
resources=8
Planet 3
military=11
resources=6
-You can also add a comment under the list with your turn. These could be suggestions, messages for other players or anything you want.
Of course, comments can also be made outside turns at any time.
-Please make sure to refresh right before posting and check the last list again to avoid using out dated stats.
-In theory, the posts shouldn't be edited and the game should move on regardless of wether the last post is erroneous (unless the resulting changes are too dramatic).
-If you have destroyed a planet with your turn, you must say so in a comment and update your own resources with +10 (in this same turn). The next player must remove that planet from the list when posting their turn.
-Any new player can create their own planet and join the game at any time.
-You begin with 30 points that you can divide into Military or Resources as you wish.
-This is your first turn and you can only use it to create a planet, not to attack or aid.
-You must write the name of your planet in bold at the top of your post and include an image to make the post stand out (optional) indicating your new planet has joined the war. This is only for your first turn post.
-Once your planet is destroyed you can join the fight with a new planet under a new name.
-Below, you must copy the list of the last post above yours and add your planet at the bottom. Make sure everything is in black (no colour since the only change is adding your own planet).
Here's the template to be used for your planet, this part is optional.
(You can add an image later as long as it doesn't complicate things, you can also change it as you please.)

For example:
New planet: URTH
Planet1
military=10
resources=5
Planet2
military=5
resources=8
Planet3
military=11
resources=6
Urth
military=14
resources=16

Update: Turns won't start until I say so, if there is a lot of interest I will start them soon.

update: Once your military statistic reaches 0 your planet is alive but you can not increase this statistic by yourself however other planets can still aid you.

Please ignore the example planet as I myself will not be playing, I'll be focusing on moderating the game and updating this post with any necessary updates and information so check back here. Also I know the layout is in a bit of a mess right now I apologise and will be constantly updating and working on this.

I'd like to thank now banned member 'Rainbow Party' for coming up with the basic rules and writing most of them out as seen above, based on my original thread World War III Forum Game.

Have fun!

New Planet: Planet Carmex

Question: Do both numbers need to hit zero for a planet to be destroyed, or does the planet die if either one does?

e: In that case, Planet Carmex will reign over this galaxy with an iron first aid kit!

Your planet only dies if resources hit 0 but you can survive without a military it just means that you'll be relying on others to assign you with military points or you will be unable to attack others.

Turns have now begun, please take a look over the rules again before taking your turn, if there are any mistakes then please do what you feel best, if things are going slow like how they are at the moment its probably best to edit your post where necessary but if things get busy this may not be an option.

Things are going really slow at the moment but hopefully things pick up pace.

Sorry for the bump AND the double post, but are we not going to play this?

Or maybe we should try a simpler version, like this: http://gtaforums.com/topic/566787-world-war-3-forum-game/

Things just never took off like my original game WWIII game did, the problem was with that was the rules were to simple and the game became archaic, when the rules are too complicated no one wants to play, its hard to find a balance.
