Why R* always leaves us in the dark.

I've been thinking lately that maybe the reason R* doesn't inform us is because it would probably interfere with their sharkcard sales. Think about it, if they tell you a month in advance about an upcoming DLC, ppl would simply start saving in advance. Now if you make it unpredictable, ppl will scramble to earn money to purchase what's available. So my final thoughts are R* is greedy. Ok that's all. Good night.

Or maybe Rockstar doesn't like to tell people what their working on regardless or how big or small the project is because they like to give people surprises. I would rather have DLC told to me as it came out, as it peakes my interest more and gets me more excited, as it's unexected. Your statement is without basis but it's your opinion and it's to be respected. But, all companies are about money, what company do you know of that isn't about money? Money runs this world among various other things, so yes, Rockstar is about money but they are also a respected company that have a heart and are one of the best companies out there today. Their games over the years have been improving, especially in the graphic and game engine department. I could go on but I've said what I needed to say.

Yes. Because every problem caused by Rockstar is Cash Card related.

Plot twist! Nothing Rockstar does is fueled by the desire for Cash Cards. They're there for the people without the time to become rich people in 5 days.

Yeah, because this explains why Rockstar has been a secretive company long before cash cards were a thing.

This is a "because cash cards" thread that actually makes sense. Every time a dlc comes out I buy a shark card because I love supporting the game and hate grinding which means I never have money to buy the nice shiny new things.

Another "because cash cards" thread. Awesome.

As soon as I saw the title of the thread, I said to myself "Great - bet this will be another cash cards thread...", I was right.

Maybe they do it because the slightest hint of information causes a sizeable chunk of the community to run around flapping their arms screaming that r* have promised x, y, z, the kitchen sink and world peace. By Tuesday.

I honestly think this theory is a good theory but as said by Coin; R* have always been this secretive. They usually don't show up to events like E3 and present things. They're like superstars, really. So no, it's not because of DLC and cashcards.

They leave us in the dark so there aren't a million threads about what they "promised".

There was no discussion of multiple properties or mansions, yet there are 1000 threads about them. Imagine if they said they were considering putting something in. Next minute we have people bitching about them promising them in the next week.

Here is an idea. Last time I checked, there were ways to make money in game. Wait. You're telling me that in order to make in game money, you actually have to play the game the way it was designed? You can do missions? Races too?!? Get out of here. Everything is designed in game so we HAVE to spend our hard earned money on virtual money.

Rockstar is a business. If you are running a business and your goal isn't to make as much money as possible, you shouldn't be running a business. Besides selling the disc itself, how is R* supposed to make money off of GTA? This is why they create multiple streams that they can generate revenue. I'm not going to start an economics class for you. But I could teach you some stuff for like $20.

This.

Could you imagine the reaction if R* released a statement saying they were working on mansions or heists or whatever the f*ck you people want now, and then failed (for whatever reason) to include it in the next update?

OMG COCKSTAR PROMISED A FLYING PINK TANK WITH DOLLAR RIMS AND DIDNT GIVE IT TO ME, IM SELLING MY GAME!!!!!111111

Perhaps Rockstar doesn't withhold information BECAUSE it results in more shark card sales...

BUT maybe it is a welcomed "side effect" if you will.

Agreed. I believe this is 95% of the reason why. Everything R* does with GTA V Online is focused around enticing people to buy Shark Cards. The other 5%, I believe, is out of their control....

I think what happens is R* makes a promise... EXAMPLE: "Heists will be released before the end of the 1st quarter 2014"...... THEN they realize they won't be able to keep that promise (4 days left in the first quarter). So they don't say anything because they realize how pissed everyone would be if they said "sorry, heists won't be out for a few more months".... so they keep quiet (keep us in the dark) and then a couple of weeks before release, they let us know "Hesits out in a couple of weeks".....

That way it doesn't sound so bad. This is why R* keeps us in the dark about a lot of thing they announce... because they break A LOT of promises....

Stupid?

Valve is just as, if not more, secretive than R*. Where are their Shark Cards?

You know why R* leaves you in the dark? Because you

a) Do not work for the company

b) Are not owed a thing by them

c) Because they can get their ideas nabbed

R* are as "greedy" as you are retarded.

Well, their strategy is failing. I for one don't play the game anymore. Been whoring world of tanks :D Really haven't got time for developers that don't interact with the community or have a clue what they're doing.

Valve actually update you more than rockstar and their games actually keep you entertained enough for you to not give a crap about DLC. There's literally nothing to do on GTA.. How many of us stand around doing absolutely nothing? Wondering why we play GTA? I actually message my friends asking why we play it... maybe I'm just too lazy to change the disc.
