GTA online world rendering / freezing issues

Hello there,

So I've been having these rendering / freezing issues for a while now. 50% of the time online while I go around driving the world is rendering really slow and badly, I can see through the ground, there is no pavement, the horizon is grey, buildings are not loading up etc.. I've heard about there being a rendering issue if you're driving full speed in a fast car (the console can't keep up), but it happens when I'm just driving on a pretty normal speed..

Also a lot of freezing up, let's say I'm driving and I literally freeze up for 2-3 seconds (+ the rendering issues), it's super annoying when it happens in races, because then people easily pass, since I'm frozen in time and place.. And sometimes that 2-3s freeze up leads to a complete freeze where I have to restart the whole console.

I've read about deleting the cache and I've did that, deleted the cache, redownloaded the patches, but it didn't help whatsoever.

Any ideas on how to solve this or is this just the game pushing the consoles too far? I'm on PS3 by the way..

So you're saying it's the patch that's causing this?

I'm pretty sure I was having these issues before the most recent patch too..

Simple question, but did you try to clean your CD and/or CD driver?

Also, does it happen with GTA V only? Maybe it's your PS3 being too old, something like that.

Had the same problem after the latest patch (XBOX). Solved it by deleting the business update. After that I cleared my chache. Booted up the game, downloaded the update and it's been working like a charm ever since.

Kind regards

I cleared the cache(s) and rebooted to minor improvement, but i didn't think about deleting the Business Update. Interesting.

  • 6 months later...

After all this time I'm still having this annoying issue, every single damn session I play, I have rendering issues, half the sh*t is not loading up if I'm driving around or doing something.. I have a PS3 slim (250 gb I think, bought it 2011 as far as I can remember).

I do have sh*tty internet and I'm no expert, but does anyone know if rendering quality speed is based on your internet quality or is it all purely disc / console data loading issue with no correlation to the internet?

Bump.

Asking again if the map rendering issues + freezy type of lag during this crappy fail rendering (seeing through the ground, buildings not fully loading etc) is the fault of sh*tty internet or some kind of ps3 defect?

I have the same problem man. It's so annoying! I have a white super slim ps3 that I bought over a year ago. So Idk what's up with the rendering issue.
