Not surprising.

Edit: Apologies about the headline, went long. Also, feel free to move to the GTA Series forum.

R* should make a character based on this guy.

Would be nice to see him in the next GTA, or even V, if R* add him in DLC.

If we made a thread about every corrupt politician, we would have a lot of threads about corrupt politicians.

I wonder if R* makes a parody character about him in GTA V DLC. lol

I think they made the lawyer you kill in "Final Interview" in GTA 4 somewhat of an expy of Jack Thompson. I'm surprised they missed the chance to do something like this in V.

Investigators said Yee discussed helping the agent get weapons worth $500,000 to $2.5 million, including shoulder-fired missiles, and explained the entire process of acquiring them from a Muslim separatist group in the Philippines to bringing them to the U.S., according to an affidavit by FBI agent Emmanuel V. Pascua.

That nigga wasnt playin tho... Rocket Launchers and sh*t... they wanted a war and yet they tried to ban GTA... the f*ck kinda logic is that?

99% of politicians are corrupt.

So a progressive liberal and "only the government should have guns" crusader is arrested for smuggling fully automatic firearms (amongst other things), and barely a peep is said in the media.

Oh well, at least there's a good chance he'll spend the rest of his life in a gulag Californian correctional facility.

I'm sure that what he was doing had nothing to do w/ being anything "Holy." Just recall countless movies (& RL stories) about this kind of thing. Someone is in the spotlight, they arent *trying* to be "good", they want to rise to power and use those "good acts" as a facade to keep eyes off of what their real plan is. There is a diff in ppl that really are trying to do the right thing and fail at some point, over those that use "good intentions" as a smoke-screen for their bad intentions.

Its like a person in a position of power that uses that position to "rid the city of drugs" but where are those drugs and money going --to satisfy their own habits & buy lavish things. What about the one that says he's "getting guns off the streets!" but he's importing weapons & keeping law enforcement at bay for the local mafia because they knocked off one or more ppl so he could assume his position of power! As they say "absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Now you have to ask yourself a question. How is it possible that someone can be so bad and so corrupt if they're not a gamer? Obviously this guy is a closet GTA fan.

One day, people will blame their own shortcomings and idiocy for the crimes that they have committed and the consequences it caused, and the moral guardians will leave video games alone.

....Yeah, as if.

I remember the story from Computer Games magazine back in 2005, doing a recap of events in a full on article about HC,

Not unlike the fate of one Jack Thompson! Let he without sin cast the FIRST STONE!

Don't you have anything better to fill your time with than doing snarky political drive bys on a GTAForum, where the majority of members have no idea what you're talking about and the rest think you're a lunatic who's making an ass of himself?

How does it feel to have gone from "tolerable right-wing ideologue" to "insane conspiracy theorist whose posts are laden with unintelligible dogmatic buzzwords, and terms of art from the fringes of academia, and nothing else"?

Take it to Reddit or something.

Ah!... The Loud Voice of Censorship. Don't like an opinion being stated outload and squash it before it can spread. Whether it be truth, or hype, or even a ranting of the addlepated. It must be stopped before it grows! :^: And of course just to say you don't like isn't enough you must insert the belittling name calling. Bravo.

Now, run and get sivispacem to cap it for you.

What's wrong with what he said? I haven't seen anything about this as a headline for MSM. Plus, the guy has a fairly liberal track record according to Vote Smart, co-sponsoring and voting for bills which attempt to increase gun control.

Right, so in an unbiased political climate you'd see headlines that read "Liberal Democrat Tries to Take Your Guns, Smuggles Them!"?

It's just not ground breaking news, and is certainly not evidence of "liberal progressive" hegemony in society, as he seems to believe.

Maybe I'm biased, but I just saw his statement as calling out the hypocrisy. There's no real headlines for this. It hasn't popped up on any MSM that I've seen and I have the Friday edition of the WSJ in front of me, there's nothing about it on the front cover and the story is only mentioned two pages in.

I find it laughable that an anti-firearm politician is caught for attempting to buy rocket launchers and automatics from the MILF.

Rocket launchers, lmao.

Yeah, if he was the nation's leading crusader for gun control, it'd be news. But he wasn't. He was a state senator who voted for gun control, as democrats are wont to do. Did he even draft the gun control legislation?

Also are you implying the Wall Street Journal has a left wing slant?

He did. He sponsored and co-sponsored various measures.

Not at all. Just disappointed it's behind Obama meeting the Pope and YouTube censorship in Turkey.

Youtube censorship in Turkey seems like a much bigger and more interesting story than "gun control advocate actually likes guns, judging by all the ones he smuggled."

I don't know, 'Politician turned Terrorist-Aide' is a more catchy headline. But to each his own.
