If GTA:O public sessions were closed

Do you think its a reasonable reason for R* to close the public sessions for GTA:O due to hackers and modders?

They would still give players the option to still host their own friend invite only lobbies but public lobbies will be gone.

Missions and game modes will still be active and players can still join and play together/against one another.

DLC will still come out for online and singleplayer.

Would you still play GTA:O if this happened?

No. If it was only my friends & crew, who would we fight against?

Don't get me wrong we don't exist just to fight we do other things too, but not being able to go up against other people would suck.

It would be sad but I would still play.

Would problaby be encouraged to have to make my friends list larger to fill up sessions. As for now I play mostly with one to a few friends at a time and we never shot eachother. Its either co-op missions or freeroam where we never shot eachother even if someone gets a bounty.

Invite only I would have to start shooting my "friends" instead,. Dont have to be a bad thing but it would take more effort and take away the thrill of meeting new people. Not knowing their friendly or hostile and what skill and tactics they use.

It's the last real option no one really wants to do, but I'm sure R* or someone at R* has thought of this idea. If a small number of people wanna screw around with the system, then everyone will have to pay for it.

Are you f*cking high? Public lobbies are the sh*t. So random. Each and every time. Keeps you on your feet and keeps the game interesting in between doing missions/dm/races/etc.

I hardly ever run into any hackers or modders....like, almost never.

I rarely play in public lobbies so it won't bother me that much but overall, it would feel really dull without FM

I know everyone enjoys public free roam. Its the literal foundation of GTA:O a hub world to which everything is connected to and how everything starts. But seeing topic after topic after topic of "modders" and "hackers" and "iso modders" being brought up I thought of making this topic to discuss the general publics personal opinion on whether they would still continue to play online but without public session.

Like I said, I never even see modders or hackers and I'm on the game A sh*tLOAD. I think the problem may persist more on XBox, but I'm not sure (they are the more immature player base :) ). I think this forum is not a good representation of the overall community and they like to blow things out of proportion. I don't see Rockstar ever removing public sessions as the vast majority of players don't have enough friends or crew to make the game fun without joining randoms. It would just be a stupid idea. I would spend ZERO time in freeroam and just continually start new jobs from the start menu...but I wouldn't stop playing.
