"Silent Bounties"

Sir Michael

Anybody else getting random bounties set on them without the "Watch out! ****** set a $x,xxx bounty on you" warning??

I just got killed by some guy and the notification said "The $9,000 set on Mikeyrockz85 has been claimed by *******."

This happened to me numerous times since 1.11, and I didn't see anything in the patch notes about the warning disappearing. It seems like this happens when a player sets a bounty on somebody because I still get the "Watch out" warning for hijacking NPC cars... something I rarely do anymore.

hax!

Just joking, I remember there being a bug where if the bounty placer left before the message you wouldn't see it, I could be wrong however.

Hmmm... I killed a white dot yesterday and claimed a bounty. I assumed it had JUST been set...

i have seen this one.

but to be honest, nothing beat the perma bounty...

this is a bug that cause your bounty to disappear only if you turn off your console. you get a bounty and it doesnt matter if someone kill you, the bounty sticks with you and people can simply keep claiming the same bounty over and over again.

I believe your blip stays red but the money is only claimed once.

i have seen that bug but the perma bounty is different.

like 3 weeks ago, i was playing an a guy got a 3k bounty which i claimed, but his blip stayed red, so i kill him again an claim the bounty again, then other 3 guys joined me and we proceed to spawnkill the bastard for a good 20 minutes, claiming 3k with every kill, til the guy ledt the server.

This would be good for killing passive mode players, you kill a passive and you remain bountied for ever until you unplug your console. Not that I'm an advocate of passive mode, all the regulars on this forum know I despise it but, I believe this might be an interesting deterrent. Of course to protect the precious micro transaction revenue, claimants would only get paid once.

This is still happening. And passive mode is a great thing by the way.
