Long story short, I left GTAO on while I was watching TV in another room, came back to find it had (obviously) kicked me for being idle, started a new session, f*cked off again, came back and found two thank you text messages from Martin and Lamar?

 

Martin's message along the lines of "Well done, try to maintain that standard"

 

Lamar's message something like "thanks for that homie" and some other dribble

 

 

I've never known to get thank you messages from Martin for doing missions, but most importantly, what was my character doing while I wasn't there? And how the f*ck was he doing it?

I was acting the bollox in a free roam session and when it got too much to handle I jumped sessions and I got a text from every single contact about a job well done etc...just a glitch

It like my character steps into a time warp a executes rough handy-j's to Lamar Martin and Gerald before coming back to free roam.

Messages from Martin, Lamar, Simeon, Ron etc.. are glitched. You'll get them at random times even if you haven't done any missions for them.

I think that's what R* meant when they said in that gameplay trailer about players continuing about their day when you switch characters. They must have implemented it online by mistake

OP,its a bug.Sometimes you get messages from Martin,Lester and Lamar randomly saying thanks for doing their jobs

Im always set to last location. When I got seriously drunk on St. Paddies, I returned to find my character dressed like a leprechaun and driving a modded up Rebel deep in the woods of Blaine County.

 

I don't recall owning a Rebel prior, but I love it now.
