Lil ski
just like it was for Call of Duty to jump the shark and go into the modern era with made up ridiculous storylines let alone into the future with walking marmot tanks. Whoa hey now. COD4 the first modern warfare was an epic leap! It wasnt until MW2 that it became a Michael Bay explosion fest with gear/gun porn. I remember when COD was regarded as one of the most respected FPS's during its WWII times.
FullMetal
You do remember that every single GTA until San Andreas used much of the same properties from previous games, don't you? I don't see you bitching about them. Holy sh*t from the 600 textures in GTA3 Vice City used 60. Holy sh*t from the 6000 textures in SA they used 120 from GTA3 and Vice City combined. And that was pretty much it. If you look at the entire games then they pretty much use nothing but new content. They just used the same engine and '''updated" some stuff (particles and whatnot). And let''s' not start on what COD has been pulling off wit their... let's say COD4, WAW, COD MW2, COD BLACK OPS, COD MW3, COD... Let's just f*cking hope indeed, footage is 6 months old and all of the sh*t we have seen was pretty nothing but placeholders. (so in a way it was just to show off the basic premise of the 'game). I just hope they are going to live up what they state what they're going to or want to deliver. Whatever... iNero
I dont care how good the graphics are. But it shouldnt look like a BF4 DLC ( which it did in this video ) It had the same animations, same weapon models, same gun sounds and sound effects etc.. Visceral had some awesome sounds effects for guns in Army of Two. Like when the mag only had a few bullets left, the sound changed a bit. Since it seems like they dont want to go the realism route with this game, they should add some gun sounds with a knock.

Agni
Yea, I dont get why Devs try it and try it... People will never play such modes like the devs want it. But thats mainly the devs fault. The only game I know where you really have to work together is Insurgency which is an amazing Indie FPS. Similar to Red Orchestra. You die in 1 Bullet without armor, 2-3 with light armor and a few more with heavy armor. But armor also makes you slower. So you have to use cover and smokes and other stuff alot cause you die so quick. When people stick together they have the best chances to win the game. Team Member only respawn when the team destroys or takes an objective on the map. This is one of the most realistic games Ive played including the sound. So intense. But you will never see this type if gameplay in a AAA Shooter since people dont want hardcore tactical shooters. They rather want to run around like with no brain and shoot everything that moves. One reason I moved to PC... Indies are better than AAA Titles most of the time. Screw that noise. I'm still waiting on my multiplayer Vanquish: See that? It's called an interesting, fun game, unlike these reality porn games like most modern FPS's. Ugh...every damn shooter feels the same. This game is gonna feel the same as every Battlefield and hell it'll fell like every COD too because they're boring corridor-fests. And when an actually fun shooter comes out like Vanquish it sells like crap. FPS's jumped the shark when they turned into nothing but boring reality porn simulators (BF, COD) and sterile simulations (insurgency, ARMA) Edited May 30, 2014 by Agni

No sh*t... would you like to know why Battlefield games feel the same as every other Battlefield game? It's because they are all part of the same series. Humans don't like change so they don't change it so people are already familiar with it. Same goes for any other modern game series. CoD - doesn't change because people don't want it to change AC - ^ DiRT- ^ GTA - ^ The list goes on and on. I know what you're going to say: "the games do change though". The basics of the game don't change, the smaller things such as new maps, weapons, ect... do change but the basics don't change.

TheMcSame
You really think that people dont want CoD to change... I can't even... Look at the sales. The game has been the same thing from the start and it was continuously the best selling game time after time. GTA V is the best selling game but the basics are from GTA III hell I could argue that they are from the original GTA. Like I said small bits like maps and weapons change but the basics don't. Grid, DiRt/Colin McRae, Forza & Gran Turismo. Small bits change but the basics are still there from the first games AC - The basics are still there... As much as you don't like and as much as other people don't like it it doesn't matter, the people that want change are the minority which is evident from the sales figures. This essentially explains it... Edited May 30, 2014 by TheMcSame
iNero
Just look at the player count. Ghosts on PC has like 850 Players online. On console about 2000. This is ridicilous. BO1 had 2.000.000 at the same time n the first week and around 500.000 after that. CoD4 still had about 600 Players when BO1 was released. People buy it cause there are no alternatives atm. I bought every CoD since CoD4 ( ecept WaW ). Ghosts was the game were I finally stopped. I wasnt even interessted in the coverage prior to release. Battlefield (has totally different gameplay) TCGRO (PC only) Titanfall (released way after ghosts and also a failed title) Resistance (how old is this game?!) Planetside 2 (still PC only) Halo (Xbox only and Halo4 was too CoD-like to players) Crysis (bad MP) Killzone (PS exclusive and apparently bad MP too) TF2 (PC only, although it was on Xbox 360, but really bad) Bioshock (this even has a MP?) Metro (also no MP) Counter strike (PC game) Medal of Honor (bad game. even the studio was shut down after release) Brothers in arms (also old) yeah... no alternatives at all... And I might add that almost non of these games runs 60 FPS on console which is like the main reason people loved CoD last gen. Th3MaN1

If I cared about FPS I'd game on a PC Anyway, they are still alternatives regardless. Some are alternatives are for PC players, some for Xbox and some for PS. I'd also like to add this: If Titanfall was a failed title then why is Sledgehammer blatantly ripping ideas from it? Tchuck
So, by alternative you mean something that plays exactly like CoD but isn't CoD? That sounds rather... Yeah. The list the dude supplied is a pretty good one, and has alternatives in various ways. But if what you want is a CoD clone, then you have it too, it's called CoD. Anyway, on topic, this looks interesting. I'd been hoping one of the two would switch to a different setting to spice things up. Last BF I really enjoyed was Bad Company 2. New studio as well. Let's see what happens!

Yeah the only reason COD even runs 60 fps because of it's sh*tty ass engine. They've significantly sacrificed graphics for frame rate, which I guess could be positive. Killzone runs 60 fps on multiplayer, but it has some drops, which is to be "expected". It uses an engine 10x better than COD uses and it's Guerrila Games first shooter at the moment. Multiplayer is not bad, only people who haven't played it will say that, I have owned Killzone 2 on my PS3 and it's probably the best futuristic shooter ever made, even the story was amazing. I can't say the same thing for KZ3 on the story, but it was decent and the MP was still good. With Shadowfall, I'd say the story isn't as good as the previous one's but MP is up there. universetwisters
lol This is literally what I thought of it the first time I saw the trailer. Is EA getting the GTA / Payday jealousy? But seriously though, why are they turning a war shooter into what is basically GTA FPS or Payday with more actioney stuff? It's like Battlefield is trying to be something they aren't cut out to be. T-N-Z
Trailer looked pretty awesome IMO. My opinion here will probably won't be a popular one, but I rather play this so called spin-off instead of Battlefield 4 or Ghosts/Advanced Warfare. I got tired of military themed first person shooters long time ago, Hardline atleast offers a new theme, cops versus robbers, bank heists, looks a little bit more tactical, I know it's not a big deal, but hey, it's atleast a little bit of something else. I too am looking forward to this more than COD : Advanced Warfare and it ain't even close. I would like to be able to bust a meth lab or something, that mission would be explosive. Th3MaN1
Imagine of the Housers announcing the delay: "Now, listen, y'all, we smoked enough weed to realize that heists ain't good. In this current state, it's sh*t. So we'll need to time to flesh it out, y'know, to make sure it's unbalanced. It's coming. Dunno when, but it will be done, eventually." Heists - Coming soon in 'we don't f*ckin' know' To be serious though, that's the only thing that's interesting for me. The game modes. It seems to change up the redundant, boring ones, which I like, but everything else is just soooo much the same. I hope, for one thing, they won't f*ck up the netcode and the tick rate. It's really important in multiplayer games, especially Battlefield, where quite a lot of stuff is happening at once. Zancudo
