Just a quick question about bounties to help me clear something up. If I get a bounty and then go to Los Santos Customs and sell a car or change server does the bounty reset the time effectively restarting the bounty? I've had a bounty for a while and the only thing I can think of is that I went to LS Customs and sold a car and it's restarted it.

No, the bounty time doesn't restart when you switch sessions or go to LS Customs. Nothing "resets" the bounty timer, it's only paused when you're not playing in online freemode as the character with a bounty.

 

The chances are you haven't waited long enough.

Have you been doing jobs? Deathmatches, races? The timer pauses while you're doing jobs, I believe.

 

In addition; did someone kill you in freemode?

No I've done any jobs or races or anything really. I stole a Baller to sell and got the bounty then drove to LS Customs at the top of the map but couldn't sell it due to having sold one a bit earlier so I headed to m garage to store the vehicle for later when someone sent mercenaries to kill me... which they did. I then recovered the vehicle and went to my garage. I waited for about 40 minutes then noticed that other players were a safe distance away so went and sold the vehicle, the bounty didn't pass but eventually did around 50 minutes later just after I posted this thread.

I don't think Mercs can be used to claim a bounty, but I could be wrong.

My understanding is that it would be paused while you are anywhere but outside in freeroam.

 

I.E. 23 minutes left, drive in mod shop, come out 5 minutes later, you STILL have 23 minutes remaining. Same for apartment, missions, races, Ammu-nation, et cetera.

You can't hide in apt/garages since a few updates ago, timer will pause

Of what you write I get it as you have been waiting in your garage. This stops the timer. You have too be outside of the apartment for the timer too run, and then it takes 48 minuts until it's over.

Or you could just let an player to dethrone you. Problem Solved.
