How to Deal With Mission Idlers

What's the plan? I just played an easy mission (one of Martins kill a witness ones), double teamed it with some stranger, but right from the start he didn't move. So I did all the work - which I wasn't too bothered about as it's a quick 2 minute job.

But once the cops were involved, I led them back to him where they killed him for me.

However, at the end of the mission, I received $6,000 and he got $12,000

So what's the deal with that? He didn't do sh*t, if anything I would have thought his death and lack of carrying/delivering the objective would mean he would have got less money than me?

Perhaps his first time of doing said mission hence double payout. But missions are a co-op affair which means you're on the same team. So whether they die or you die so long as mission is completed then payout is paid.

I had someone try this last night in RR. They went and hid under the overpass as soon as the mission started. I was like, "Oh yeah, you really think so, huh?!" I killed myself. They went driving around (probably thinking I was going to quit). I was on here, lol. After like 5 minutes they committed suicide. We restart and again they went and hid under the overpass. This time we managed to get two others to join. One died while the other went driving around. I rushed the documents and went and hid on the roof. Took about 10 minutes until they all quit. I finished the mission alone.

Can't you vote to kick the person from the start menu?

You got to have majority vote.

Besides trolling a bit there really is nothing you can do. And to add insult to injury, these are the people who are wont to kill you as you return to free roam.

Tank shifts

You're the most pointless member on here. As for mission idlers, there's nothing much you can do. Killing them will only waste lives. Even good players can die instantly when going against crappy AI. ;)

Yeah I've noticed this a lot on RR recently, people hosting and then idling. I used to run them over repeatedly, now I have taken to blowing up the documents out of spite, doing my part, one day they'll learn

Yes you can kick a player from the start menu. Start > Online > players on job > scroll to name > vote to kick.

It should be an option in the quick menu, as it is a pain in the ass to do it through the start menu in the middle of a mission.

They were hosting so I'm guessing(?) that only the host can kick?

I joined via Quick Job (because I have no friends lol). It was a 2 player mission, very easy. They were a level 62 and I was 59, so I can't imagine it was their first go on that job as I've been doing it for weeks and it was Out of Court Settlement which has a minimum rank of 22.

I like the idea of covering them in petrol though :p

Snake Without a Tongue

I did that escort mission Holed Up with an idler. First time ever I died during that mission and that idiot just stood there. The best thing to do it troll them from the start. If they don't move, give them a sec in case they're just distracted or lagging then do what thy wilt.

Grab/kill the objective and instead of delivering/reporting to where you are supposed to, start idling until they decide to either quit or move themselves

I had a Spanish idiot do that to me once. Instead of completing the mission I went to my apartment, sat down and watched tv. After a minute or 2 I changed the source on my own tv and made something to eat. After about a half hour I switched back to the game,he left so I finished the mission. What got me though was afterwards this jackass sent a friend invite. Rarely ever happens anymore because I only do mission with people I know or I do them solo.

Depends who it is. If its some random guy ive done a dozen jobs with and he suddenly goes afk 5-10 minutes I dont care. Usually they come back and get back to work so its no problem if i solo a couple of jobs.

Sometimes im the same ill dissapear for 5 minutes after playing a dozen jobs and get the kettle on and make myself a brew take a bathroom break and usually get back in time to vote on he next job.

If people dick around deliberately or make no attempt to even help with any missions at all then its either kick or message the host to kick or drop back to free mode and host my own jobs.

LoA-Phantom

I usually leave them and finish the job solo since they're all pretty easy anyways and the only reason I ever invite other people is so they spawn in my garage lmao, then consider that my gta good deed of the day but since I found the jobs menu I just start everything by myself

Is this The Guy?

Run them over a couple times.

I also like to park my pv near the mission end area and sit there and wait until they exit.

So much effort and time, when you can just save yourself all that by quitting the job and going elsewhere.

I run them over. lol

Same goes for ppl that run in guns blazing in RR. I'm trying to save ammo by gun buttering professionals and there is always a random dip that aggros them. TBH they have been getting more annoying than AFC mission moochers.

Depends how I feel. If it's a quick mission, I'll usually just finish it myself but sometimes I'll just drive around, not do the objective and see how they like that. Most of the time they end up leaving after a few minutes and I believe if they are afk for 13 minutes they get kicked anyway.

Kind of had this happen last night, playing Coveted. Me and two others; I grind alone, usually (the cargobob doesn't end up in the sea) so have a good system going, and carried on as usual, sniping enemies while the other 2 stood around and did nothing.

Got to the cargobob first, and, because I was feeling nice, waited. Because everything was dead, they came running. One pulled me out of the cargobob and immediately took off; I wasn't fast enough to sticky bomb the cargobob, but luckily, her incompetence led to it being submerged in the ocean.

Replaying, I left their asses on the ground.

Leroy Jenkins' legacy still continues to infest online games all around the world. just forget about randoms and do everything alone. the sense of achievement is also much higher like this.

That last time I did that they never left. lol

I think next time I get the chopper and fly to the air force base and explode in the hanger. "Try getting them documents!" lol

I don't even play missions with randoms, period, if they somehow manage to get in the session, they get kicked. Learned my lesson in the first 2 weeks of online, had several jokers who thought they were cute standing around jerking, going off to rob a liquor store, blowing up the objective, etc. Some idiot thought it was funny to take my car and drive it into a river, then leave the session. After that it's solo, or with my friend who plays, no more randoms.

I agree, I play solo most of the time but I seemed to have got stuck at a point where I was only getting the same missions. And of course there are those missions that require 2+ people (even if you could handle it on your own), the last couple of days I've quick jobbed missions and been able to play loads of new ones.
