I can't get into my own car

For some reason lately I have had trouble getting into my cars. I have to hit Y multiple times or hold it down sometimes and its so annoying because it happens on missions like Rooftop Rumble when I am trying to stay alive so I try to get into my bullet proof car but nothing happens when I hit Y.

Put the access in your car to EVERYONE and you can get in it....it has been happening to a lot of people since 1.11

It happens on missions for me but not in freeroam

You have to select passengers only. That way no one can drive off in your car and you will be able to get in without it locking you out.

How do you select passenger only? People have been stealing my car trying to dupe it and it didn't lock up and kick them out. I had to kill them to get it back. I have a tracking device and insurance on it.

I think you press select on the xbox pad. I assume its the same for ps. Scroll through the menu and you should find it.
