What's the point of buying a helicopter?

All of the helicopters spawn at the Vespucci Helipads location from single player or at the airport, plus you have to pay $200 each time. I think Rockstar should have made it free. Also, you can only have one Pegasus delivered vehicle at a time. Does anyone here have a helicopter? Why did you buy one?

I have an attack buzzard in GTAO. I bought one purely because I could. The upside is now that heli spawns are randomised, if I want a buzzard and one hasnt spawned I can just call and get one delivered nearby. Rather than relying on luck and leaving and reentering the area hoping one spawns.

their only big uses are during missions when helicopters dont normally spawn at their helipads

Tonight, I was embarrassingly overwhelmed by a low-level player while taking an SUV to Simeone. I got myself killed and the player took the car.

I respawned and he had to go get the car resprayed, since it was damaged.

I called upon Pegasus and my Buzzard was waiting a block away on the hospital pad, so I ran to it, got in, and went right to Simeone's garage, where I waited.

When the player got closer, I went Off Radar and killed the player. I also blew up the SUV just to be a toolbag.

By the time he respawned, I was already flying back into the city, having served my brand of Justice™.

 

And that's why I bought the Buzzard. To have when I want, to use when I need.

I did too now i regret it because i have to scroll though like 20 things just to find what i want and sometimes when you're in a hurry like in a mission or driving you can hit the wrong button.

Missions, missions, and missions. Buzzard makes a lot of jobs go faster.

Buzzard makes some missions easier to do then a tank. But then again how they hell does a Vato have perfect accuracy with pistols and shoot me when I am high in the sky.

What's the point? On-demand aircraft of your choice. Yes, they spawn at the helipads, but you aren't guaranteed to get what you are looking for via that method.

I bought a Buzzard for search and destroy missions, ie. Crystal Clear Out III / Mixed Up With Coke / Trash Talk / High Priority Case etc...

I can still do Crystal Clear Out III / Mixed Up With Coke / Trash Talk without the Buzzard, it just makes things easier and different.

High Priority Case, you will need a chopper, I use to call Merryweather to send out a pickup chopper, land it, shoot the pilot and take the chopper.

Now it's just easier with my own Buzzard.

Makes "Cleaning Out The Cat House" easier to do. Land on roof of hotel so Anna can just run up to the roof and pick her up from there and fly to Madrazo's house.

Like someone else said, there needs to be a way to get pegasus to recall a vehicle. I got my shuttle bus out today, left it in the city when we went Surfer cruising and as a result couldn't call my boat or copter later. An hour later I dragged my arse to an LSC to reset it....

Play a mission, that resets it as well

This is how I feel. It sucks you can only call one Pegasus vehicle in at a time. Because I hate when I want to call in my Buzzard to fly halfway across the map as its quicker. But while I'm dodging traffic I accidentally call in my yacht. Suddenly I'm the bad guy and everyone's screaming at me for taking so long to get to the objective. Goddamn guys the Yacht ain't that fast.

Buzzard makes light work of quite a few of the higher paying missions, and doesn't spawn during those missions.

Sure it isnt delivered, however I live 2 blocks from a helipad and there is like 2 helipads in every populated region as well as some secluded ones... its pretty easy to get.

Play a mission, that resets it as wellTrue, but not that helpful when I'm mucking around with the crew and want my speeder. But yeah, that works.

Well, to overstate the obvious, the Buzzard is the difference between taking 20 minutes or 1 min 30s to do Mixed Up With Coke.

*Keep in mind those free helis in free mode do NOT spawn during missions.

**Sometimes you can call Lester during a mission to find you a heli and 8 out of 10 times it will be a buzzard.

That's nice, I bought a mammatus and it spawns at the airport every time I wanna use it. So basically if you call Pegasus it spawns near you? I may buy a buzzard then, right now i kill the merryweather pilot and steal the maverick. I would keep doing this but the maverick is the worst helicopter and after a few times they stop letting you do it.

Not necessarily, it spawns at the nearest spawn point, which is not always close. But the buzzard is far beyond worth it. Wouldn't buy any other unless u have money to burn

Easier for missions when needed, when you need to transport your friends,crew or other players. Fun to fly and purely for the reason because I can buy whatever I like.
