kill/death ratio

Does anyone believe that our k/d ratio really matters? Some crews won't let people join unless they have a certain k/d ratio. I really don't think its that serious and shouldn't matter at all. But i think our kills and deaths in deathmatches should only count. I don't think getting kills or killed in freerome should affect it. What do you all think?

They should just remove all stats such as KD, WL, How many kills you have. Then we will have a fun game where people don't have to glitch in our garages to keep their precious KD over 20.

k/d can be reflective of how good someone is at staying alive.

 

I don't care about my k/d, but that doesn't mean I'll stand still while you shoot me with an AK.

if kills in freeroam didnt count toward kd ratio, mine would be like .09 as i dont play dm sh*t mode.

 

i have a kd ratio up in the 2.80's and i dont care as long as im having fun and my console doesnt freeze, its all good!

OP rule number 1 stay away from crews which such requirements. Most of those crew leaders with K/Ds above 6 or a 7 will and use tanks over firearms any day just to maintain it. A 2-3 is not hard to achieve if you use your brain.

It matters because it shows how good you are at killing others, no crew wants a loser who's gonna die all the time and not get any kills.

I don't think it should matter in sandbox games or games that aren't very competitive. I don't think there are any GTA tournaments and if there were they would be about racing, not shooting.

Well there rankings and there are supposed to be crew challenges and fights and whatnot so that's where it matters but just doing missions or races it doesn't matter.

I remember when I used to get obsessed about my K/D back then in FPS games *cough cough* COD. nowadays I could care less about it, GTA is a game about fun and shouldn't matter whether you have high KD or not. I agree with @darkwar854 about stats like this getting removed from the game cos they don't mean sh*t!

I won't give a monkey's toss once it reaches 2/1 tbh... I was at 0.65 before i started farming my way up to lvl 120.. since then, the kills have poured in... Though admittedly bounty hunting with a buzzard does seem to add a fair bit for minimal effort..

 

Just wish there were more fully loaded cargobobs to shoot down tbh..

I find it usefull to see if other players are dicks.

If two guys in the same crew in one session both have over 2 in k/d ratio they are usally grifers/bullies/secret gay couple and I tend to be right.

 

Over 5 i would say tanks or lazers only guys.

 

Over 100 cheater.

 

But this is not true all the time. Sometimes people (like me) have high k/d ratio because the make sure they have the upper hand in all fights. I would say most of my kills started of as defencive but then it's just to make them quit...

Nothing more annoying than racing in to help a member you think is in trouble, only to have them spray you as you pull up..

 

Now they suffer all kinds of random surprises/assaults from other crew members..

Haha, he deserves it pretty much. That is why it's called a "CREW" godamn, and you shoot them because of your selfish concern for your k/d?

Please, you have the excuse to remove those kind of players from GTA right instantly.

Nah it doesn't. If your in a tdm wirh your crew. Is your crew gonna take the guy with the 4.0 kd ratio that might only get 2 or 3 kills in the round because he camps up high with a sniper rifle to scared to move. Or are they gonna take the guy with the 1.5 ratio that gets 15 kills in the round Even if he dies 10 times.

 

Any crew or group that recruits based on kd isnt worth joining

My KD is a 3.97. I only let my friends into my crew so KD really isn't important. Only one other person in my whole crew has a positive KD, his is an exact 1.00 xD

last night we needed 1 random to even up a TDM... i had a choice between KD .88, KD 1.10 and KD 2.40

i said keep 2.40...
