123tm123
Yeah yeah I know, GTA V wasn't even out for 1 year yet and already people are talking about the next installment. But I heard somewhere that the development of GTA V started right after they finished GTA IV. Makes sense that they would start the next installment soon too so they can deliver on time. Anyway I believe that Vice City is the next installment because of some Vice City references in GTA V. GTA IV had San Andreas references such as peds saying "I'm moving to San Andreas!" when being jacked and the next game took place in Los Santos. Now we have peds screaming "I'm moving to Vice City!" when getting jacked in GTA V. I think there were move references to San Andreas in GTA IV than Vice City too, that volcano poster and license plates of San Andreas found in the game files. I remember that one mission in GTA IV where they export drugs or whatever on boats to Vice City but that's about it. Sounds like a dumb conspiracy but it's pretty weird. I do hope they remake Vice City in HD, it's about time because Liberty City had it done and so did San Andreas. Although I want to see what they do with the map, the Vice City map was extremely small. I hope they have enough to work with. What do you think? Vice City or not? Hmmm nice bike
It's hard to say. There were plenty of hints towards Vice City in IV, too, enough to make a lot of people think it was gonna be the setting of GTA V. V has a ton of references to Liberty City (even several LC license plates in the files), as well as a few to San Fierro and Las Venturas. Though I do think that Vice City does have a better chance of being next in line this time around. Edited March 23, 2014 by Tony.
123tm123
Yeah for some reason when playing GTA IV I was always hinted that the next game was going to be San Andreas just from the things I saw and heard. I just ignored the Vice City references because San Andreas only had one game done, it was time for a 'sequel'. Now all I'm hearing and seeing from GTA V is hints towards Vice City and ignoring the others. I don't believe it makes sense to have yet another Liberty City HD remake. GTA IV was good and got the job done. We need the next brother in the series to get a good treatement, Vice City.
Osho
Yes, Vice City for the next GTA. I've high hopes for it to return with grand scale and pretty much the amazing atmospheric fun and better everything than V.
BlackNoise
They talked about wanting to go back, but it's difficult, because a huge part of VC was the time period. This is what Leslile The Benz said about it... It is always a possibility. There are a few references to the city in our current-gen GTAs so it is part of that HD universe, and it is certainly somewhere we would love to revisit. However Vice City, perhaps more than any other GTA game, was as much about the era as the setting. Miami in the 1980’s is so iconic it would feel strange to revisit the city in a different time period. I personally think we'll see a GTA set in the near future. I'm not sure where though. Rainbow Party
Unless they make some DLC, yes, I think the next big GTA will be in Vice City. If they make a DLC maybe they add SF or LV to GTA V. I've said this once and I'll say it again: GTA V must have been really disappointing since everyone is talking about a next GTA. Aerosmithfan999
I have no way of knowing, but I'm positive GTA VI will be set in Vice City. Rockstar have already delivered HD renditions of Liberty City and San Andreas. This pattern suggests that the next GTA will indeed be set in Vice City. In my opinion, it would be a squandered opportunity if Vice City wasn't the next location.

I expected a lot from it and it delivered more. The only reason people are talking about the next installment is because its pretty cool and weird to see the beta stages of things. It feels like you're almost taking part of the development of the game. Same thing happened to GTA IV. Right after people started going on about GTA V. TheTechPoTaToCHIP
Oh please, EVERYONE says that it should be in VC. Making yet ANOTHER thread about it is just utterly pointless -_-

Aleph-Zero
I want to believe GTA VI(ce). It makes so much sense. Although we don't know if the next GTA will be a GTA VI or episodes or something else. If they ever make another GTA in Vice City, i'll buy the f*ck out of every special edition, everything related on their store. Gnocchi Flip Flops
I'm hoping for a Vice City setting in VI with the Keys and maybe even Orlando. With all of the odd things going on in Florida at the moment, Rockstar would have a lot of stuff to take the piss at. I agree with Leslie that the 80's really made Miami shine, but I'd still like to see a modern Miami. One full of beautiful detail and cool money opportunities with more purchasable luxuries. Vanto
I hope that the next installment is set in Vice City. But I don't think they started developing it already. They're busy with GTA: Online, the SP story DLC and Agent. Gnocchi Flip Flops
Matty256
I do too hope its set in Vice City as the next installment and not the two other city's from San Andreas. But for GTAO i can see them doing Las Venturas and San Fierro as a Episodes type of thing instead of making them into a full game. Would be cool to revisit them sometime. 73duster
I'd rather see them go somewhere new for a change. Vice City was great, but the best thing about it was the 80's theme it had going. A new Vice City would most likely bet set in a modern theme, and end up disappointing many people. I'd like to see a colder climate setting, with lots of snow and a bigger variation of seasons. I'd also like to see a bigger emphasis on interiors as well.

Judging by most of the regulars in the V section, bright settings are liked the most. A colder climate would disappoint a lot of people.
Rainbow Party
Well I want a colder climate, a place with snow for the first time as a main setting. But I guess that's just me and the North Yanktonphiles
boberson01
While it would be nice, I think most people like Vice City for the old 80s feel to it. Putting modern cars and a modern setting into Vice City IMO wouldn't feel the same. Doing Liberty City during the time it was taking place made sense. Doing Los Santos in the current era does make sense, yet at the same time lacks the old gangster feel San Andreas had. So doing Vice City in GTA VI with a setting around 5 years from now might seem nice and fit with what could be Miami 5 years from now. I just don't think it will capture the same essence that GTA Vice City had with the 80s era. I would want to see a whole new city for GTA VI, but if we do get Vice City, or even London I wont complain. HOW'S ANNIE?
You know what? I'm going to be the first to put up my hand and say I don't want to see Vice City next. It's just way too predictable, and another modern game based around sunshine and beaches would be a bit too much (not saying VC and LS have the same vibe though). What I really do want to see is San Fierro in the 70's. R* haven't done the 70's. San Fierro was the most neglected city in the whole series, and needs to be done right. And San Fierro + the 70's goes as hand-in-hand as Vice City + 80's.
NYC PATROL
^ Yeah VC is pretty predictable. But R* knows how much people love VC and maybe they are thinking $$$ and cashing in on that nostalgia. At this point I'm ok with any locale. GTA-Biker
I would love the next GTA to be set in Vice City, but also some small towns and a swampy area around the city to make the map bigger.I would maybe prefer the 1980s setting as a reference to 3D games, but I also wouldn´t mind seeing the modern Vice City.It would also be cool if they would make a game set in Las Venturas and San Fierro(to have a map with more than one city again, like in GTA SA,but with both cities on one large island with desert, forest and some towns between them, maybe Palomino Creek,Fort Carson and some others from GTA SA),maybe set in the 1970s with the story about mafia in LV and biker wars in SF(between Angels of death and some other outlaw MC based on the Mongols MC).Some new city in the midwest based on Chicago and Detroit would also be cool, those cities have an interesting crime scene and there was never a GTA game set in the midwest.
