Most players do not brake on their fast lap.

*Ok the thread title was meant to be: ".....on their first lap"*

Whenever I am in a race, whether having joined or hosted, whether its Rockstars or a custom race, players do not brake on the first lap.

They, for some reason, expect a infinitely long stretch of road and then smash into walls or each other at the end of turns. They repeat for every other turn until they start a new lap. Is this their way of learning a track?

I think players are obsessed with speed. Whenever i host a race, i mix it up. I put compacts or coupes or muscles, etc... they tell me that they want supers. When i sometimes tell them that its a track with many corners, sharp and narrow turns with slow speed corners, they still want supers.

Out of curiousity, i did give in once and to no surprise, they pick adder or entity.

This "no braking predicament" also happens with a few friends too. I tell them at the start of the race is a corner a few meters away and as we are waiting for the countdown you can see a huge wall blocking your path up ahead, for some reason they still turbostart. Turbostart only resulted in the largest pile up ever.

As i observe any sort of race, ppl dont see it as a competition focused on the track and winning but solely on each player around them.

Mathematically speaking, as the number of corners reaches infinity, ppl would brake instead of slamming into a wall on the first lap. Vice versa could be said.

I should of included a poll but too late now....are you one of those ppl that drives cautiously, observing the map and your speed on the first lap or do you compete with others in a drag race into every corner hoping the impact will slow you down enough to be able to make the turn?

How do you race or learn a track?

How do you race or learn a track?

Check the map before the race, normally. Although with the R* created races, i've done pretty much all of them.

All i do is buy the best brakes and go fast on turns and brake And handbrake drif or i would trick the guy in front of me by acting like to hit them but they keep looking back and eventually hit a wall or somthing and end up falling off the track

Never listen to what the public racers want. Unless they make sense.

They are obsessed with super cars and going straight while playing bumper cars. Thats why i usually avoid big, long straight races.

Also..Turns thin the herd. You're either 1st in and out and avoid the herd. OR you slow down and let the herd bite first.

Majority of all races can only hold 4-8 racers. So when it gets more then 8, its simply not big enough to handle all the cars in the same space at once.

I look at the track path in the lobby and see where all the turns are. If theres a early turn at the start, I hang back and let everyone pile up and cruise by the massive pile up. If theres laps, I don't mind people passing me cause theres a good chance of another pile up on up coming turn. If streaming is on, and Im in 1st, I let 2nd place pass up but not lose a great amount of distance on him and stream behind him as soon as we get close to the last checkpoint.

Point to point races are a little different, still look at the map in the lobby, but dont play so cautiously as in lap races. Point to point races are based on luck really. Its either you somehow manage to avoid being hit, spun out, be part of a pile up or you're SOL and the 1st place guy has a massive lead all by himself.

I read the title as "Most racers don't brake on their last fap"

OT: This is how most "Ice Kold Killas" race and also how most kids race. I remember the good ol' days, I never braked in the Simpsons Hit and Run

Also most people have a field of view of approximately 0.5 meters.

On my side, I may not be the fastest driver I know (APEX Stalkers crew member here... so yeah) but I'm trying to be careful, mostly because I don't like scratches on my car... yeah just for that reason haha
And I always, always, check the map before the race start.

All my cars have a relatively low acceleration and very high traction. I don't need to slow down, and I won't crash.

The catch here is that I conpletely suck at straights.

Hey guys i tend to try and get the best line not on the first corner or even the first lap. Sometimes its better to hang back and watch the lesser skilled drivers wipe out. Anyone interested in forming racing league

I check the map at the beginning, I also check the map while driving so I always know if there's going to be a corner or not. I think most of the racers that just smash into walls and other drivers don't really pay attention to the actual race.

Yeah why is people so dumb? I rarely crash in a pileup and i win most of my races.... And the last racing simulator i played was Gran Turismo 1 (i dont think GTA IV counts)....

It seems they are using the Gilles Villeneuve approach to learning a track. The only way to the find he limit is to go over it, and then come back from it next lap.

F*cking retards don't brake on turns and crash against other players. That's so retarded and annoying... Many of my races were ruined because of such bastards that just can't race correctly.

I'm tired of this sh*t.

That's why I want a ghost mode.

Just wait at the start of the race for a second, watch all the other idiots crash, overtake them, keep your first place, win
