Help please

Hi, I won't bore you with any background details about me or why i'm asking this question, but could someone please help answer this question for me.. I am no longer able to send in game texts or messages to other players, and I no longer can hear any audio from other players while i'm playing. It seems like i've looked at every possible setting and I can't figure it out... Thanks in advance for your help !!!

What happens when you try to send a message to another player? Is the option just not there anymore?

 

Also, is it possible you've been reported for a terms of service violation and blocked from communicating?

Sorry WBaker, I should have been much more specific.. I'm using an xbox360, and yes, the option in the phone for text messaging a player in my session is just no longer an option, and when I go to the start menu > online > players > send message, rather than allowing me to send the player a message, it takes me to my friends list, like it's only allowing me to send a msg to one of my friends? As far as I know, I wasn't blocked from communicating, or reported for anything? I've never seen anything or got any type of msg that I was blocked?

I did some checking, and it looks like this is a temporary problem due to server maintenance.

I really appreciate your help, but this has been going on for over a month now. Can you think of any specific xbox 360 or game setting that would cause this? Although my teenage son continues to deny it, I have this feeling that my son changed some kind of setting because he hates that I play his GTA 5 game..I know that's strange and probably TMI..lol
