I'v played GTA Online since launch and still to this day I have never had my game freeze? I'v had the error messages and unknown errors but still never froze. Am I just lucky, or does it have something to do with the console? My ps3 is 5 years old and has at least 3 full games downloaded to it. Also I'v played 10+ hours before, playing for an hour or two and leaving my game on in single player for several hours to come back and play later.

 

Anyone else like me out there or know why I'm so lucky?

Clearly, OP, you are a god amongst men.

 

Having said that, there are plenty of things a lot of people complain about on here that I've never encountered (people placing CC stuff in free roam, garage killers etc) so the exceptions are always possible.

I was looking for a serious answer but then again the average I.Q. of the forum members here is lower than the amount of fingers on your left hand.

 

To help you out, your left hand is the one where if you make a L shape with index finger and thumb, it looks like an L.

 

Also the number after 2 is 3.

I remember how everyone was losing their players at start and 2 days before the Stimulus package came out I commented that is laugh if I lost it AFTER they patched it, I lost my character 4 days after the stimulus package came out I lost my player and I was a mix of pissed off and laughing.

lol funny you should say that, since im left handed. but if you want a serious answer, then all i can say is congratz. enjoy it while it lasts cuz you may soon join us when the next patch comes out and inevitably messes up something else.

it mostly only happens in free roam, so being in missions is a good way to prevent freezing. you could only play in private sessions, or you could work at rockstar.

1st time was months ago back in the tow truck days so I think that was the cause, second was a couple of weeks ago so could just be latest patch.

 

Had a few time outs, servers unavaliable and a couple of pauses

Even the tow truck days I had a friend try to get me to freeze and I didn't. I wish i would have taken pictures because he even had to look it up to see if he did it right. Idk maybe i have a super console.

So random freezes that have been increasing with the latest patching is a common thing? I been thinking it's just been me but then noticed people on my party having the same problem and seen some lobbies where a lot of people leave at the same time without going on a mission or having any relation.

The amount of freeze ups I've had since this patch, makes the tow truck days look minuscule.

I like how after posting this rather butthurt response to a joke answer, you go on to later describe the majority of responses as butthurt.

 

The answer to your question lies in the arcane field known as probability. In layman's terms - you're just lucky I guess.

I've had no such issue. Of course my time in FR has dropped dramatically since I was first gifted money (December) and had it removed (December) and then later had my honest money wiped (purge).

 

Can't say I really miss FR to be honest. I'll futz around every so often there but I much prefer the Invite/Closed sessions now.

Its never just the game that freezes for me, its my whole console. I can usually still dashboard if games freeze up on me but not with GTA.

Same here. Complete console freeze. The sh*t is crazy and very frustrating.

 

I can play other games for hours on in and never have it freeze. I pop GTA in, go to Online and it freezes within an hour or so and keeps freezing every 20-30 minutes afterwards. Also, it's not just GTA for me, I can play SP just fine. It's only GTA: Online that's doing this. It's also funny how R* support keeps deleting the threads about this in their forums.
