Crew Emblem glitching out on Clothes, and other issues

Noticed this last night. After running a Job and returning to FM, the Crew Emblem on the back of my character's jacket basically glitched out and wouldn't display properly. After a bit of testing, it turned out that all sizes of emblem, on any clothing, showed the same glitch. Since it was late, I powered down and when I came to it in the morning, it had righted itself.

 

However, again after finishing a job, the Emblem glitched out. Same deal as before, no combination of size of clothing could fix it. Switched to my other character - same deal, Emblem glitched on entry to FM. Oddly, however, it was not glitched out on vehicles. As a result, I snapped a picture;

 

 

 

 

Additionally, on the subject of vehicle Emblems, my highest level character (above) is permitted to purchase a vehicle Crew Emblem - for any vehicle - free of charge. Here's a Landstalker I grabbed off the street for Simeon;

 

 

 

 

This character is level 93. My other character is level 53, and he has to pay the 25k for a vehicle emblem. Is this normal? Does the Emblem become free at a certain level?

For the emblem on clothes I'd say it fixes itself because I have had that issue at one point on jackets for my female character but it's back to normal.

 

For emblem on vehicles, I had heard that in one of the patches emblems became free at LSC now. Both my characters have never had to pay for their emblems and the 2nd one I made recently, so when he was low-level he did not have to pay either. So I'm going to assume it's just a glitch happening to you, unfortunately.

im having that same kind of problem execpt that

i can put my crew emblem on a shirt but when i want to put it on my leather jacket it says « this item is not available a this moment » ???

I have experienced this same problem on at least two occasions. I usually wear an under shirt (T-shirt, baseball-T, etc.) with a track jacket over it. The under shirt has my crew emblem on the front, so it can still be partially visible within the open track jacket. Meanwhile the track jacket has my crew emblem on the back.

When I first encountered the crew emblem problem, I tried changing clothes, but nothing worked. At that time I happened to unlock some tattoos and played around with also getting a crew emblem tattoo on my chest, so I thought the game was bugging out because of too many crew emblems. Ultimately, I removed the crew tattoo, but that did not fix the problem. Later on I played the game and everything was back to normal.

 

Another variation of this crew emblem problem is the dissappearance of crew emblems on some of my vehicles. Some cars still displayed the crew emblem, while others did not. Even when I brought the "blank" cars to the LSC mod shop, the menus indicated the crew emblem was already on the car, so I could not put them back on. They were there, but they were just invisible or something. Actually in restrospect, most of my paint jobs are matte-black, so the black square, which appears over the emblem during the glitche, probably just blended into the paint job. Anyway, just like the clothing, the crew emblems on the cars re-appeared during another play session at a later date/time.

 

When I looked up this problem on-line I came across some speculative rumors about what might be causing it. I saw a couple of posts where people said Rockstar has put measures in place to prevent custom emblems. By this I mean that process where anyone can take any image and convert it to SVG format, then copy-and-paste the image text into Rockstar's web-based crew emblem editor. From what I read, R* did this to stop the continuation of explicit/offensive crew emblems. However, by implementing whatever they did, it caused glitches to previously produced custom crew emblems. Some people said R*'s intent was not to block already made non-offensive custom emblems. They mainly just wanted to restrict new ones from being created. However, maybe the black square over custom crew emblems is really R*'s not-so-subtle' attempt at a censor box.

 

The theory of R* implementing censorship and causing "glitches" sounds reasonable to me as an answer for the problem, but my emblem is not at all explicit or offensive. My crew emblem is actually the same image as my GTA forum profile pic. More importantly though, I created it within R*'s web-based editor, so any censorship of a custom emblem should not be a factor. Admittedly, I have a background in computer graphics, so I could not resist playing around with making a few custom embles. That makes me wonder whether R* took notice and possibly censored every emblem I am associated with.

 

Whatever the case may be, I am just hoping the crew emblem glitch will not become a permanent or repeatedly occuring issue.

I do not know if you are trying to get your emblem on both a shirt and a jacket at the same time, but when I try to do that with my shirts and track jacket I first have to wear only the shirt, then apply the emblem to the shirt before putting on the jacket. Once the jacket in on over the shirt, I can then apply the emblem on the jacket. I am mentioning this because the problem you are facing may or may not be associated with the crew emmblem glitche, which the original poster is writing about. Obviosuly, if you are trying to simply say you can not get an emblem to even appear alone on a leather jacket, then yoru issue is most likely related to the crew emblem glitche.

Has anyone found out any more info from rockstar? My tattoo emblem keeps disappearing so I end up paying for it again, this is the last time though!

I replied to this before, but I have continued to notice gliches involving the crew emblems, and in case you did not notice the date of this post it is April 16, 2014.

 

1) The crew emblem on clothing seems to be blotted out by a large black square, but if I look closely, then I can see a squashed version of my crew emblem in the upper right quadrant of the black square.

 

2) While finishing up missions (like Rooftop Rumble) friends of mine have told me they sometimes see their crew emblem on my character's back during the cut scene, but I am not in their crew, nor are they in mine.

 

3) Occasionally the crew emblem disappears from some of my cars. In particular this seems to happen most with my Coil Voltic. Oddly enough, I have managed to force the emblem to appear on my car by going to LSC, and REMOVING the crew emblem from my car, which actually has the opposite effect.

Not sure if it's related to having a svg from before the patch though, could be something to do with it.

I have this same problem with my clothing. I noticed it after I exited a team deathmatch
