Since all of your vehicles show up on your Social Club stats, and as a result of glitching/save-editing in fully modified vehicles, your cash stats won't add up to cover what you own, it's easily plausible that they are well aware of people glitching cars from SP to MP. Hell, all they need to do is look at this forum.

 

Whether they can actually do anything about it, beyond patching the glitch method, is another story. Hence why they might hand out bans for Savefile edits for MP, because that's probably the only thing they can do to try and deter you from using one.
