How to solve connection issues using more than one console

We have had this problem, and through doing research, we see that many others have had it too. You have two consoles in your home, two people want to play the game on each console. One of the consoles is wireless. Every time you try to go online at the same time, you each get kicked out of the session you are in. Solution? A cheap separate wireless router - ours was a Netgear WNR1000, N150 - with the only equipment running through it being the secondary xbox 360 console. Worked perfectly. Hope this helps!!! :) On a side note, everything else in our home is connected through the primary modem/router from our cable internet provider - three computers, all wifi; smart tv, wifi; xbox 360 hardwired; tivo, hardwired; two tablets, wifi; and two phones, wifi.

I didn't have that problem. I have 2 xboxes on 1 router

1wired and 1 wireless. I thought it would be a problem at first but it works fine. I have a netgear router as well.

chances are it's caused because the xboxs are trying to use the same ports. going threw a router on a different port would fix it....enjoy knowing why it works I guess.

That makes sense. Maybe that would've solve the OP's problem.

I don't know much about networking, but wouldn't they be on a different ports anyway being one is hardwired and one is wireless?

not necessarily. the port used is chosen by the xbox.

We have four xboxs. Three are wireless. We do not have any issues of getting kicked off. My router can support up to 16 devices wirelessly though.

Maybe the issue is not that you have two xboxs, but maybe you are exceeding your device load of your router. Most wireless routers only support 4 devices. Mid grade dual band routers usually will support 8. High end quad band routers will support 16+ simultaneously (if your internet will support the load).

We have 4 xboxs, 5 iphones, 3 ipads, 2 tablets, 3 computers, satellite, and a ps3. All but the one xbox is wireless.

sounds more like an IP conflict, the two xboxs are trying to connect to the router using the same IP address on your home netowrk, so only one can connect, causing the other to be booted.

If you assign a static IP to each xbox you dont need a separate router, unless you are actually exceeding the maximum amount, which theoretically 254 devices (i.e 1 per IP, which cna have upto 254 possible combinations) so tis unlikely.

if you wana set a static IP for your Xbox Portforwarding.com have a good guide
