Just had to pay hospital bills for killing a passive player. Is this n

A person was killing me a few times with his tank, so I went and got mine and managed to destroy his tank.

 

He immediately went into passive mode (as they generally tend to do!) so, being a douche, I ran him over.

 

I got a message saying "You paid $78 hospital bills for killing a player in passive mode"

 

Is this new? I don't recall seeing it before?

 

*EDIT*

Going to test a few scenario's - being passive in a vehicle and being destroyed. Does the killer have to pay the hospital bill etc...

That's because passive is only on foot. If you kill a passive player in their car, it doesn't make you pay because passive stops when in a vehicle

in regular server you have to pay the hospital bill, if youre in bad sport server you have to pay hospital bill + you get bad sport warning + you get 15minutes added to your timer EVERYTIME you kill a player in pussy mode!

I don't see how they would? If you were being charged like 10k for killing someone in passive mode, you wouldn't wanna be trying to kill them. And if you're trying to say everyone would go into passive mode and try to kill each other I'm confused, they don't have access to their weapons? I get they can easily run you over but then just stay in a car i guess.

 

OT: I would like the idea of a warning system, you get 2 warnings per session and only 1 for each person so you could kill 2 people in passive mode before you pay the big 5k fine, I also like the idea of having a cooling period where if you are killed within a minute of switching to passive mode they don't switch in the middle of a gun fight and someone runs them down thinking they are still in normal mode.

I agree. a Non pvp session like friendly free roam in RDR would have helped..

 

For me it seems that passive is usually used as a get out of trouble free card.

 

 

As is, on foot it works great. Sure people can run you over, but you can just avoid them. Problem is that works great for players who just finished a 10 minute tank rampage trolling the sh*t out of players.
