Well they've said that they'd be releasing version 3.0 this year which should be a big leap for the game in terms of content. At that point it'll hopefully become more of a game than a tech demo.

@ Vikki to be fair to sc this is their 3rd year making these game's (started 2013) I think the opposite, the squadron 42 should be realese by the end of this year and thats pretty quick for a game to develop in that time frame.

The issue's are expected as it's in its pre-alpha and on 2.7 is where they are going to start to update the net code.

It only seams like the game has been in production for a long time but it has not,it just feels that way cause they been giving out info and showing us the progress of the game wich is unheard of that makes it long.

Chris Robertson has said when 3.0 will come out it will feel like a full game even though it still would be in its pre-alpha at that stage :) I am hyped :D exciting stuff :)

^ I think Sq42 will be release next year cuz there are lot of work still need to be done, I dont mind if it take another year. :) Look at their latest character tech you can see the different from citizencon gameplay last year.

Yea very much could happen,but since the German interview indecent Cig said it still on schedule for this year and on their forum I read most backers would not mind if it would go to next year for release and I agree just like you said looking at the progress and all the detail they put in its worth it :)

In actual fact this is totally true. I've never really thought of it from that perspective in fairness which is albeit naive but that's more impatience than anything else. I'm sure if GTA6 was done in the same way we'd all feel R* were bullsh*tting us for the better part of 5-6 years until a BETA was released. Good point!

A lot of people are expecting some SQ42 info as well as more info about Alpha 2.6 for SC. At least I am :D

This is kind of a big problem with a lot of early access games on Steam. Sometimes developers will just decide to remove and rework key aspects of the game which is understandably frustrating for someone who was enjoying the old version, but it's also sometimes necessary for the devs to do that if they want to create the kind of game they want to. As a basic rule you probably shouldn't buy unfinished games unless you wanna support the development, because a lot of things could still happen and you might not always have the option to refund. I'm kind of being a hypocrite here though, because I own several early access games as well as Star Citizen. I can't always help myself lol

This month subscriber's ship uh for the month is the

 

STARFARER: big ship, multi crew you'd have to have freinds or hire npc's or (what I plan to do) use voice attack app. To man the stations

I'm excited for this game, but I don't get why so many people wanna buy all these ships in advance. Not only are they expensive as f*ck, but aren't people just gonna ruin some of the game's progression for themselves by owning the things they want right away? Though I guess maybe people just want to pursue certain careers right off the bat.

I watched citizen con last night good stuff at the beginning Chris r. Mentioned about the Polaris ($850 ship) you don't have to buy it you CAN earn it in-game when it's released as well as other ships. If you do like the direction of the games and want to say buy it you can for $45 you get everything you need for star citizen (starter ship ,hangar,credits) I recommend the $60 package you get an extra game "squadron 42" with the star citizen package (kinda like a preorder but you can play alpha meanwhile :) . of course people are crying its just a cash grab wich is kinda is, meanwhile you don't have to buy in, anyway

The sandstorm was awesome it looked like it was far away he was walking on top of the crashed ship that was huge when the sandstorm was getting close and he ran inside the crashed ship for shelter

You know I did buy some ships but not the crazy $ ones :lol: its like shark cards the way I look at it. but their will be lots more and way bigger ships I could work my way up when game is released

I bought a starter pack that was bundled with SQ42 at the time and I upgraded the Aurora to a 300i, because it's just a lot fancier ship and cost relatively little(it's also a ship that's already in the game). I think I paid like 70 bucks or so in whole. That's the most I'm planning to spend right now. I think I'd rather earn ships in game myself.

I bought the sc+sq42 Aurora package and upgrade it to a (my current ships) :

Gladius

Also Bought stand alone ships:

buccaneer with lti (still in concept have hornet loaner)

dragonfly lti (merlin loaner)

Argo cargo lti

 

But I plan to melt the sc+sq42 package to buy it again( this time the mustang package it has $5 more value on the ship even though it cost the same and add another $5 for an Aurora ln) and change my Gladius add it to the argo to buy a bigger ship my goal is the consolation Taurus so I can lug around my space motor cycle :)

 

So my planned ships will be

Buccaneer (fighter)

Dragonfly (space/motor cycle)

Consolation Taurus (transport medium ship)

Aurora ln (small fighter)

But that's it :lol: I don't want to think how much I've spent.

Thinking you're the sh*t in flying games really doesn't get you far in this, does it?

I picked this up after scoring a sweet rig and thought I was getting along kind of fine w/o any YT tutorials, just the odd Keybinding page reference - but man, I tried taking on 2 pirates and didn't know how to do jack sh*t besides fire my lasers. I'm so goddamn desperate to become adamant at flying ships, getting tired of only doing PI missions to make dosh.

There used to be a flight tutorial in the game which gave you most of the important info about flying and stuff, but I heard that some update broke it and CIG hasn't bothered to fix it. You can probably find some guides made by the community on the Star Citizen subreddit(or the official forums).

Arena commander has a flying tutorial that's how I learned :D (its on the menu when choosing game mode)[unavailable I was wrong]

 

@jimmy pressing down on mouse wheel lock's on target,to fire's rockets press mouse 1 button,when you see them pass you and turn around watch out they like to ram you lol I hate that what I do (cause it's super annoying) press "a" or "D" to strafe left or right but try electronic access > arena commander theirs a "pirate swarm" survival type :)

 

Oh yea on the coming 2.6 update they are changing the flying physics so it may change on my earlier post you can see some upcoming features

That's the tutorial I was referring to in my earlier post. You can't access it in the current version of the game.

 

What kinda sucks is that you may not have missiles if you only have one of the cheaper ships and haven't upgraded it.

 

Yeah they said they'd actually halve the speed of the combat flight mode. The purpose is to make ship combat a bit more sort of intimate that way and it's probably gonna make things a lot easier for beginners. Halving the speeds sounds a bit extreme to me, but I haven't tried it ofc and they also said they'd be listening to feedback on it.

Oh yea the starter ships don't have rockets also the hornet :( I have that as a loner for the buccaneer

 

 

I do like the idea of slowing the ships down they pass you so fast

yeah, mad. Thanks for that. I've basically looked over keybinding pages for the essentials but combat i had no idea on, and those commands are pretty essential.

I've got taking off, pressing C to switch betwen what I call "super sensitive aiming" and non-super-sensitive aiming mode, N's for going into landing mode or not, and B is to do the quantum drive sh*t. Which is so awesome, and took me like 3 hours to find out lol.

Don't have much problem navigating the Throttles/strafing etc; but it defintiely feels different for each ship. Got to find one I can fall in love with.

And a GFX card that lets me play at a bit more than 30fps...

Right now the persistent universe runs bad for pretty much everyone, because of how the current net code works. They are going to fix it in 3.0 which should be coming out later this year unless it gets delayed. Arena commander runs a lot better in the current version of the game and it's probably more indicative of how the persistent universe is going to run once everything is optimized.
