Well, the Infernus and Cheetah ARE meant for roads. Tho, the Hotring Racer has really bad handling, which is the reason why I lost a lot of races in Los Santos. I agree what you have said about Hotring but IMO Jetmax is better than Squallo. I realize that jumps/stunts aren't exactly on topic, but then again, speed is difficult to assess unless the purpose is defined. Also, there aren't many good opportunities for boat jumps unless you mod the game a little and add extra jumps. I always prefer the Squallo over the Jetmax. For off-road speed, don't forget the Sandking. It's plenty fast on-road as well and is a really good jumper. It's main drawback is that the wide wheelbase makes it difficult to shoot the gaps between cars in the cities.
