Nothing. You can't "drop a level" unless I'm mistaken

Your stats drop, not your level, noob

It's your skills that drop, not your stats, noob.

OP, your skills (strength, shooting, etc.) will degrade over time if you're online character is not active.

That's a good question. Unfortunately I don't know. If I had to guess, I'd say a couple of weeks without playing before you would see a decrease in your skills.

Stats and skills are two completely different things. Even if it WAS what you meant, it's not what you typed. What you typed was misinformation and incorrect.

This whole exchange was pretty funny.

There is some element of randomness I think, so I'm not sure you can get an exact answer.

I can say for sure something about buffer space anyway: I went a couple weeks without playing and on coming back didn't notice anything changed.

Here's an extra though: do you keep paying Johnny on the Spot when you're not online?

I'm fairly certain you don't.

I was away from the game for a 2 week holiday and only the stats that weren't maxed dropped, from memory that was lung capacity and shooting for me at the time.

They will not degrade once they are maxed out. As for time, in my experience they begin to degrade slightly after being absent for a week.

In my case, for lung capacity to go down to one fraction over the penultimate bar and stealth about half bar, 2 months. It SEEMED to drop even when I was logging in once or twice at a roughly 2 weeks interval, but that`s what I lost in about 2 months: almost a full lung capacity bar and half stealth.

It SEEMS that it also drops from non-core stats first, and not from shooting, driving/shooting, stamina, strength.

Keep in mind this is loose observation and a healthy amount of personal observation, which is based on more or less absent memory and not 100% exact observation. As a rule of thumb, 2 months equal about 30 minutes of grinding to get back to what was lost - manageable.

grand theft spaghetti

so it takes away from the hardest to level up ones first?

not that stealth and lung capacity are that useful, its just a huge pain in the ass to level them up.

go into stealth mode, attach holding device to analog stick, walk away. after walking stealthly in a circle for 20-30 min you should be maxed.

Interesting, I got on after I stopped playing for a week and had my maxed out flying go down.

It seems that way and those are the ones that dropped in my case, at least. I also never did any flying since I "stopped" playing, so that skill is, technically, still on the list. I will log my main tonight and see precisely what I lost, if more is lost to begin with.

What I just realized and want to throw a question about: If I am playing an alt for an extensive period of time and not log my main, will it still lose stats, or is it timer based on account and not avatar?

My friend hadn't played in two months. His stats were the same. Someone should figure out how it works.

Didn't know skills dropped if you're not active.

It would be a pain if my lung capacity dropped, it's boring do get that one up.

No need maybe, but I try to spend some time underwater from time to time, to max it up. Got 80/100 atm.
