I mean, why R* hasn't thought about it yet?.. I see everybody fighting to see "which car it's the fastest".. a drag race would definitely solve that. 1/4 or 1/2 mile, straight line, no posible mistakes.

But what would be really sweet, it's to make BIG bets, like 20k 30k 40k etc.. So, besides of lossing his pride, he would lose some cash too.

 

Of course, this sould be divided by ranks (1-20) (21-45) (45-80) (81- +120).so there wouldn't be any level 467 taking advantage of a low rank guy with a stock Blista..

 

And Obviously divided by car class. (an Entity against a Comet wouldn't be fair)

As much as i would love this, it wouldn't really work. What happens when you have two maxed out Turismo and both players get a perfect launch? It will always be a draw. If we had Manual transmission option then yes! Unfortunately all we have is a brake and throttle button. Drag racing is much more than smashing the gas pedal going down a straight 1/4 mile.

 

Maybe on GTA VI though...hopefully!

They should have added this as an activity. Instead of that sh*tty movie theater, they could have made a Drag Racing strip somewhere in the vast open wasted space outside of Los Santos. It could work just like the Golf activity so you won't have to worry about trolls.

Drag races would be sweet, but kind of pointless because of the limited mod options...A fully specced Phoenix is as fast as a fully specced Phoenix and a fully specced Ruiner is faster than a Phoenix...All drag races would be fastest accelerating car vs. fastest accelerating car in each class.

 

And the unlimited betting would get nipped in the butt by R* because it is an easy qay for people to share money, and that's not what R* is about at this point in GTAo

i think "impromptu race" is our version of drag racing.

 

as for the bets, yes i think we should be able to bet as much as we want, is not like we still have hacked millions and stuff

I made a drag race for my friends and I if anyone is interested. It's exactly a mile long.

 

I made a few versions in different places but the best place is by Fort Zancudo on that bridge. Longest/widest straight.

 

In the creator, all cars have staggered starts in narrow formations so to avoid this, You've got to use a wide road to start on and get as many cars side by side as you can.

 

My particular race has a really cool start, with props set up around the start line for effect. There's also spectator seating and a hot dog stand.

 

If you do the race, make sure slipstream is turned off. It's a great way to see which of your friends has the fastest car. Great fun.

We did some testing to see if the Turismo was in fact faster than the Adder.

Biggest issue I have with race creator is the minimum distance that a race has to be as a minimum requirement.

 

Ideally, the minimum length should be 400m or a 1/4 mile, which would allow us to similate a 1/4 drag strip.

The only thing I'd be concerned about with drag races would be other players pitting and ruining the race.

Perhaps a drag race on a long stretch of highway with barriers where there are turnaround openings?

Might be something to consider for the Content Creator, though a 2 person race might not have much payout or appeal to others.

1/4 or 1/2 mile drag strip, but with a real Tree light...that way your reaction time could become a factor when you race against a car exactly like yours. The better driver wins it!

I made a few drag and there n back type of races using the content creator. got a couple circuit races too.. and just started on drift races.

 

Midnight Drag I,II,III,IV,V (all quick drag races. 1 on 1)

 

There and back I,II,III (1 on 1 except for III, 4 players on zancudo bridge. good for rolls and digs)

 

From a dig (1 on 1 around a good industrial spot i like)

 

Midnight Circuit (16 player race around the ls freeway)

 

Sandy Circuit (4 player race through the streets of sandy shores)

 

Los Santos Grand Prix (16 player race mainly for super cars)

 

Drift Wars: Airfield (4 player drift race around the runway)

This was a big problem for me when I was making certain races. I hate that .62 miles bullsh*t. I was barely able to make my race ''From a dig''. It was at .61 for the longest time, no matter what I did.. then the other day I finally managed to get it to .62 so I could publish it.

Dont know if any of you played nfs underground on ps2 but the drag racing in that was dope.

 

You were automatically planted in one lane and could switch lanes by tapping left or right during the race. All you had to do was worry about getting good or perfect shifts.

 

If rockstar somehow added a drag racing feature like that it would be pretty sick
