Can you play Gta V without an internet conection

I will be changing my internet provider soon and will lose my connection for a while and I wondered if I will be able to play story mode while this is happening?

Yes, you can. GTA Online, as the name would suggest does require you to have an internet connection. However GTA V story mode can be played offline.

Just as a matter of interest, If a person bought the game who did not have an internet connection at all I would guess they would only have the content included on the disk. Anything added via a patch would be unavailable to said player. Ie. No valentines dlc additions.

Correct, no DLC as well as no Title Updates, meaning you're stuck with all the bugs that get fixed with every update.

Yes, my internet was out for the first 2 weeks I had GTA V.

Yes it will work without the internet conection but some features will not be available such as saving photos with the snapmatic and BAWSAQ will also be down for maintenance as both need a conection to your social club PSN account.
