So this one is the assassine Lazer? I often tried to find out where the Lazer is coming from that tries to shoot me down and followes me after my liftoff. It always seemed to spawn out of nowhere on the ground.

Or just take ANY Lazer, take off, pull a loop to dodge his missiles. Spot him, shoot him down. Proceed to LS and blow sh*t up

I saw him. I tried to steal his jet but he was still rolling.

I'll have to try sitting back and watching him get out.

Look for what's spawning and flying. If you got Bobs in the air (I think) the jet won't be. I don't know though. The pursuit jet is rare.

If, after dodging the ground to air missile, you ascend at about a 75 degree angle, I find he only pursues about 1 out of 4 tries. When he does pusue, it is also far easier to spot and kill him when he is trying to get to your altitude.

Just do an Immelmann turn and fly away from the base at about a +30 degree angle (to avoid him and also so you will fly over the magic police helicopters spawning at your current altitude ahead of you), works every time for me.

 

The Jet definitely just spawns out of nowhere, you can't stop it spawning by doing anything in my experience, I've still been shot at when i stole a jet that was being taxied by an npc.

I have yet to be shot down by said jet, I have seen him behind me a couple times, but not hard to get rid of at all.

I always go for the jet in the hanger, full power and as soon as you start getting in the air, I just pull straight up vertical and then horizontal after about 10 seconds and you avoid everything. Simples *squeak*

I like going for the hanger jet because it tends to not impound my vehicle if i get shot down leaving the base, but i feel i encounter less tanks when i'm at one of the two jets closest to the airfield. I never see the npc jet when i fly straight up and towards mt chiliad, after i've looped away from the SAM missle. Been having a lot of success recently with low altitude heli jumps from right at the fence between the base and the marsh, usually just have to shoot one guard and i end up taking off right when the first mesa arrives. If you do it right you can shoot the guard while parachuting, and still land on the jet.

I don't often go for a jet but when I do, I get it out of the base, fly fast towards the city and boom! The bastard without any warning has taken me down.

 

Even if I manage to parachute to safety, he takes me out!

 

Even when I re spawn, he has taken me out a further 3 times while simply circling in my area! He's like an auto aim psychopath who really holds a grudge if you catch him on a bad day!

 

I wish I had a mini gun. I have only ever managed to take him out once when I had re spawned. It felt so good when I saw his plane coming down, I even ran to the crash site and shot him in the head over and over!

lol at psycho pilots shooting you while parachuting away from your wreckage, i have been a victim... more than anything my controller loves to randomly eject me when i'm pulling down hard on the joystick to climb upwards. a couple times i've had jets spawn parked and unmanned in the marsh after being killed on base. ah, nothing like being the recipient of a losing streak reward...

Here's how you actually get a jet:

 

Go into the military base via any entrance with a vehicle, not any aircraft. Drive towards the hangers. If a red blip spawns infront of the hanger, its a tank. Immediately drive away and head to the fenced in area on the edge of the base. If no tanks spawn, simply take the jet that's in the hanger. Fly low over the fence as you exit and do a bit of a dive after you go over it. Since I always do this, no jets or random missiles spawn behind me when I steal a jet.

To avoid, go north down the river between the mountain and the military base, flying low, go under the bridge, once you get to Sandy shores, fly high. Never failed me once.

But I take a different approach to get a get. I go on the hill, get into the base, go straight and brake through the fence and right around that building there is a jet facing south, turn right as you are taking off, go up, flip around and do the going north through the river under the bridge technique.

I just fly straight up and high until he eventually despawns because I'm so far away.

 

Works 9 times out of 10 for me.

doesn't matter, a new Lazer will spawn and pursue you, trust me.

Get away from the AI Lazer isn't so much down to luck but manoeuvres. When you steal one, immediately move forward and fly up, then do a loop or do a hard turn, and keep turning until the missile is destroyed, because the missile is tracking you it's easier to outmanoeuvre it because of hard turning and loops, especially if you're doing an ascent. Then do a straight and ascend, because you might say the AI is smart but it's f*cking dumb for going around in circles, thus making it easier to get out of its range. The AI doesn't fly as fast as you but trust me when I say this works.

Hell, if you feel like it, turn back and shoot him down with rockets the machine gun, far more effective for taking down an enemy jet.

if you fly low enough he wont spawn at all, flying straight up will leave him spawned and he will possibly follow you around the map until he gets you

It's really a case of outsmarting the AI. Yes, there's every chance you could be hit but make sure you have enough speed and agility behind you to outmanoeuvre the AI as I find it to be really dumb.

 

As aforementioned flying low works great too but it's really open for choice. Personally I fly up just to get away from tanks, but I'm also a risk taker. ;-)

I had this asshole spawn me kill once. No bullsh*t. I stole a lazer and headed towards Sandy Shores. After dodging numerous rockets, he finally shot me down. After respawning, he came back around and rocketed me again while I was on foot. I was like, "dafuq just happened?" So I respawn again, pull out mah sneeper and start scanning the skies to see if he was coming back around again. He circled around me and came in for another run in which he rocketed me again. This continued for like 5 more deaths until I was finally able to snipe him down. No stars or anything the whole time this was happening. He just kept spawn killing me. I had no idea wtf was going on.

 

My expression once I realized I was being spawn killed by an A.I...

This. The AI jet spawns in mid air.

 

The easiest jets to get are the two close to the marsh. Pull straight up until you are upside down going toward Los Santos an the Ocean. There is almost no chance the tanks will shoot at you, while the hangar method has a slightly higher chance of a tank not only shooting you while you enter the hangar, but also rolling in your path, or shooting you while you exit.

I normally just go straight up and fly away, and nearly every time it despawns.

 

Flying low over the fence is the right way to do it however, because it doesn't spawn. For some reason I still go up though.

Too Funny. When GTAO first started, my favorite passtime was stealing the jet. This had happened to me then, and I was just as shocked. Only like a month later did I talk to someone else it had happened to, and I was so relieved to have had this happen to someone else.

 

Then yesterday, I read a post before yours referencing it, and went on a jet stealing spree yesterday afternoon. Sure enough, I got the random no warning missile like way outside of the base, but I managed to eject. Floating towards the base my chute jerks. I check the map, no white dots in range. Then I pull my ap and start scanning the skies and the sob is flying right at me. Fire a couple of rounds futily, and he pops me.

 

Spawn on the ground and pulled the minigun, but he got off one missle and then the jet froze mid air
