How does the money/RP system work online?

On numerous occasions, I get paid exactly half the amount of cash of another player who got killed twice and literally does nothing whereas I'm doing all the work?

Sometimes, on the same mission, I'll get $10000 and another time, I'll get $4250...

Is there a reason for this?

If it's the first time sometime had completed that mission, they get double the payout you normally get.

This is the correct answer.

 

The first time you are on high enough a level to do a mission you should always make sure you do it on hard so you get triple the normal payout (1.5 (for doing the mission on hard) x 2 (first time doing the mission on a high enough level)= 3)
