Legendary912
Hello fellow gamers, I'd like to talk about the constant updates of GTA Online from Rockstar as I believe they are completely ignoring Singleplayer altogether. It's been 6 months since the initial release of GTA V and all I can see this summer is every single update on the newswire being GTA Online related, just like Max Payne 3. Rockstar need to up the ante if they want to please the fan base. Your thoughts? warlord GTAV and Luddite

Fuzzknuckles
People forgot about the SP-only DLC that's coming up already? DLC for MP has to be small, bite sized incremental chunks - anything too big will destabilise the game dramatically. So, they give lots of updates for MP - which makes it look like it's getting tons of content, but it's actually not getting much at all. SP, however, will get a very substantial story update that will add lots to the game - that's a lot easier on a more-stable product that hasn't had hundreds of tiny changes since release. Basically, what your boy Fuzz is saying, is 'chill those boots and be patient, son.' Zee
Just be patient and keep waiting. You've already waited 5 years for half the game, why not wait some more for the second half to arrive as DLC? latigreblue, Fuzzknuckles, warlord GTAV and 1 other

Y'all need to remember... patience is a virtue. Chicks dig it. Not that that matters much around here, but it's true. Things that are worth waiting for are... YEAH! Worth waiting for. Cyper
Rockstar focus on Online because that's where the cash comes from. Much of the games design decisions clearly indicates that even Singleplayer has suffered in order to implement the best possible Online experience. You're not going to see any major Singleplayer DLC for GTA V. With ''major'', I point at something such as TboGT or Tlad. That's at least what Rockstar have stated earlier and unless they change their mind it wont happen. I honestly don't think focusing on online will have any negative noticable sideeffects for Rockstar games. Most casual players don't care about the politics about the game, they just pay up for the game, all its content, and play it for a while and then jump to another game. Personally, I don't care anymore, because the Singleplayer experience is not adequate in my opinion. To much missing, to stupid design decisions. What I am looking forward to a respectable PC version and a load of mods fixing up this game. Edited March 20, 2014 by Cyper
Osho
Mr. Fuzz have answered it perfectly. I really like the GTA ONLINE compared to other multiplayer games. It has so much potential in future. That doesn't mean SP has lost it, but now we have got even more options to play with online friends in massive map and world of GTA. It's now much better than normal multiplayer we had, more content and with time it will showcase a feature rich solid gameplay. Single player will stay and be the first thing for me to play every GTA, and GTA ONLINE filling that extra fun we desire to have with friends online. Gtaman_92
Is all about supply and demand. Multiplayer gaming is increasingly popular with this generation of gamers and R* is just capitalizing on this. It sucks that single player is being overlooked but most of you have to remember that R* is a gaming company and they have to do what's hot in the market or else they wil lose sales. El Zodape
They should do like GTA IV and not release jacksh*t in between the big DLCs. I dunno, some people seem to want that.

It's not being overlooked if they've promised us pretty big SP DLC's. It tells us at least they are going to focus on it at the same time as online. You have to think about that online has a promising future. Of course the launch was bad, no denying that. But it happens. It's their first ambitious online project. At least give them a chance. Lethal Vaccine
I read the topic title :GTA Online Will Always Be First" And then thought to myself "Wait, what? Single Player always has been the heart of GTA due to the franchise getting to where it's at now with GTA 1, 2, III, VC, and SA Single Player." It only recently got that Online part tacted onto it. And at the end of the day, it's not even worth it, imo. But yeah, patience is key. But since I use a save editor there is always possibilities and new things to try in the meantime while I wait for something bigger for SP... woggleman
Online had a serious problem with hackers and glitchers that they are just now starting to get under control. SP DLC will come. Most games take even longer than this. TLOU came out last June and they only recently released a short SP DLC.
saintsrow
Just be patient and keep waiting. You've already waited 5 years for half the game, why not wait some more for the second half to arrive as DLC? Second half that's good. Realistically, I don't mind waiting a while for high quality story DLC, especially if it is in some sense the "second half" of the game where the designers get to put in all the fun features they had to cut (many things that we expected and hoped would be in the game) to get the game out the door in 2013. More sarcastically, I would say that Rockstar has realized that story mode SP gaming is a dead end, while the magic of multiplayer gaming is that half of the online population never gets tired of destroying the experience of the other half. This is the engine that drives GTA Online. That is, in sound bite form, "Bullying never gets old." So it makes sense for Rockstar to support that natural trait of mankind, and to continue to design the online game so that the greatly disadvantaged lower levels will grind their asses off to gain parity with the assholes who have ruined their gaming experience, either to take revenge, or so that they can bully the next generation of kids coming into GTA0. It's a beautiful online world ....
PowerKracker
I thought they changed their mind with a prior announcement (in regards to big DLC like TLAD or TBoGT), but turns out things are just as bad as people thought they'd be. The only thing planned for SP is some assassination missions (moderately cool, I guess) and flight school (no point unless we gain something from it), and we still have to wait a few weeks or so. I hope they focus more on SP in the next GTA as they keep updating the GTA Online we have now.
