Honestly, I've gotta say this is probably the only game that is interesting from EA, if not one of the few games. UFC 3 was an utter sh*tfest.

Fight Night IMO also needs to come to the next gen consoles.

I'm a huge UFC/MMA fan, but this game doesn't look very promising to me. I don't expect it to be much different than Undisputed 3 or EA's first MMA game. I think it's going to be very boring and repetitive very quickly just like all of the other games have been. They're fun for a bit, but it's really the same idea as any fighting game; it's just more of the same.

I agree that Fight Night needs to return though. Fight Night Champion was nearly perfect.

Also, someone already made a topic on this game a while ago:
EA Sports UFC

Yeah FNC was so good. I'm still playing it. Although the online has gone to utter sh*t. People either spam you, step back and give you power shots constantly or rage quit.

I highly doubt that EA can come close to the THQ UFC games this time. Unfortunately THQ has been shut down...

I thought EA Sports MMA was the better game, but THQ obviously had the better roster. Can't wait to play this. Plus, Bruce Lee is in the game.

THQs gameplay was WAY ahead of EAs MMA games.

Way more complex and in-depth

To be fair it was EAs first MMA game. When playing Undisputed I felt like I was playing Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots. To see which head got knocked off first. In EA MMA I was able to box anround my opponent and throw more fluid combos. And I was able to go into three or five round wars. I rarely got to the end of the fight in Undisputed.

Like I said, Undisputed is way more complex.

Btw. you could also hit a few combos in Undisputed.

EAs game is way too arcady for my taste. The animations and movement alone were horrible.

How was it more complex? The punching was a button mash and the submissions were circle jerks until Undisputed 3. And the striking was poor. You had to stop moving in order to throw a jab or else it was a hook.

lol. then you havent played it how it should be played.

there are tons of grapplings and submissions. a lot of combos and everything had to be timed. And it wasnt just cicles, there were different directions for different actions. you also could use the octagon.

This game was far from button smashing...

I'm guessing you mean variety, because it was no way in hell complex to throw combos in Undisputed.

It was complex. The submission grapples alone.

mount the opponent, get him where you want so you could do the move you want. Or drag him to the cage

Undisputed 2010 had to be the peak of the series. Everything was good from the animations, to the graphics, to the controls and the characters. Haven't bothered playing online though.

But I think EA need to stick to the Fight Night series in terms of sports games. Fight Night Champion is one of the best games I've ever played and I've owned it for over a year now, it's really addicting. For the love of God EA, make another one on the next gen and FIX the DAMN SERVERS!

Holy sh*t this looks amazing. Love the anims when they got rocked. The way Pettis' head just rocked back.

I didn't think there was a thread for this game.

I made my PS4 pre-order over the weekend. Can't wait.

I am looking forward to the career mode most of all. I hope it's good and not all froth with no substance.

EA MMA's career mode was great, so I don't expect anything different.

The only thing I dont like about the gameplay is that the animations dont look fluid and its a bit too fast.

That video looks pretty good to me. I'm honestly going to give credit to them for finally making a good sports game, and probably the first very good MMA game. Keeping my eye on this for sure. Still waiting for a fight night game though :)

Bruce Lee catches my attention. Just add Chuck Norris later on some DLC and I might have to grab a copy.

Aldo, Pettis are lightweights/featherweights they are suppose to be fast, no way it will be like that middleweight upwards.

The grapple mechanics when they are both on the ground is questionable at best, it looks like they are just choosing to stay on the ground and touch each other ridiculously. Other than that i'd say it all looks pretty damn solid, nice.

I'm not a big ufc fan, but I'm thinking of buying this, pending how I like the demo.

also EA is pretty bad with their microtransactions, does anyone have any info on how bad they will be in this game?

I can't imagine micro transactions making much of a difference in a game like this, sure they might introduce a new character with higher stats than everyone else, but at the end of the day he's still gonna have all the same moves as everyone else. Unless they start releasing actual fighting move packs for like $5 i don't give a sh*t. I can live without Chuck Norris or shorts with flames on them.

Yeah things like clothes and extra characters I don't really care about, but what about in game currency? If they have a option to buy it with real money then I'm afraid things like stats for your my career character might take for ever to get. That's if it's anything like nba2k14 lol I've played 100s of games and I swear if it wasn't for the companion app and the rewards my, my career guy would still have super low stats.
