Jvaz615
I've seen that reported in a few places. I guess it was on Reddit but got taken down, apparently at the request of Ubisoft. Non disclosure and all that. If its real, it sounds like a fun side thing to do that brings back old favorites in a way that doesn't affect the story
Jvaz615
And we have a delay. Unity now hits the same day as Rogue. Nov

FranklinDeRoosevelt
Yet it has nothing to do with Assassins at all. It was based in the era of Pirates, that says it all. It wasn't as hyped as AC3 was.

xtro2000
AC u looks fresh enough to buy this time. seems they improved the parkour/control mechanics a lot. 4 player coop looks very fun too. its just the historic background that bothers me... a bit too dark and gritty
Bremaine
AC Unity looks pretty decent ,but I like the fact that I can play as a templar in Rogue. I will eventually play both at some point. Rogue will come first since I don't have a PS4 or Xbox One just yet, but I'll get it for one of the two at some point in the future.

Alpha Demigod
It was sh*t. Sorry if I am going off-topic, but why is AC3 widely considered by the fanbase to be sh*t? Mista J
I think one of the reasons is that it runs like sh*t. I get tons of pop ins on 360. Any word of a crouch button in Unity?

I actually liked it, but I guess I'm a black sheep. It didn't deliver on 1% of the hype surrounding it. The story was sh*t, mostly because the main character was boring, and the present story was even dumber. A lot of studios were involved, so the whole production and development didn't go very smoothly. And as the result the game suffered from unintuitive gameplay elements and design decisions that seemed like they were just thrown in without much thought. Like the Homestead missions, the economy and crafting system. Even hunting was very bare bones. The most interesting aspect of the game were naval battles and they were too few of them. Cities were poorly designed which made free running boring. The setting just didn't work well with the gameplay. Gameplay should have been completely overhauled to take advantage of the new setting. Instead, they just made a few new animations and made some changes to the combat system, but overall it was the same as previous games, only in a setting that required much different gameplay. I do agree that the hunting was boring and pointless. And the homestead was just too much number-based Sim City stuff. But I really liked the departure from the European setting to America. I loved the beauty and atmosphere of the frontier. And Connor is my favourite character to date. Partly because I find the whole "charismatic prettyboy being a badass assassin" so cliche. I liked Connor's seriousness and endless devotion to the cause. The dude just seemed so...disciplined. Like he would never, ever, succumb to any vice. He is what I think of a "pure" person. You just can't ever imagine him betraying someone, being greedy, being sexually promiscuous, or anything like that. The dude was so pure, like he was written in as an angel in some religious holy book. But he still had a great arsenal of badass moves, and only killed oppressive tyrannic redcoats. If you think about it, the main AC games have only toyed with 2 main character types. The serious, no-nonsense, badass. Altair, Connor. The talented killer who can still laugh, joke around, and be flirty and whatnot. Ezio, Edward. I really hope that Arno is like a French-Connor. But then again, we all have different opinions of what we want the character to be. The fact that you can ignore hunting and homestead completely was a big bonus for me. I usually don't bash the flaws of a game if I can make them disappear fully. Not just "sweep them under the rug but they come back to annoy me"...like completely make them disappear. This is what I did with hunting and homestead missions. Just don't do them, and it's as if they don't exist. With that being said, the only complaint I had was that the mission design, as in the story missions, were all very linear and prescriptive. Instead of giving you any freedom, they said "you have to do it this way! and if you don't, reload a checkpoint motherf*cker!" Good to know that Unity is fixing this. I think one of the reasons is that it runs like sh*t. I get tons of pop ins on 360. You played it on sh*tbox360. Case closed. Creed Bratton
You're right about Connor. He's probably the best person overall out all of the Assassins so far. But as a protagonist he was kind of boring.
Alpha Demigod
If I remember correctly, Ubi described Arno as charismatic and witty. As long as he's not just a French clone of Ezio or Edward, I'm cool. You're right about Connor. He's probably the best person overall out all of the Assassins so far. But as a protagonist he was kind of boring. This, for me, created more of an investment in the character than charisma or one-liners did for Ezio or Edward. I just had so much respect for Connor, and I am a very cynical and jaded person who does not see humanity in polygonal 3ds max characters. I actually respected that guy. Again, I guess it was all just my personal flavours. This is not concrete proof that Connor was a well-written character by societal standards, for me personally he hit home. I have been exposed to so much darkness and so much scumbaggery from the human race, that when I see someone as pure and disciplined and motivated as Connor I felt so much positivity and developed an attachment to the character that far exceeded Altair, Ezio, or Edward. Even though Altair was serious, he was still a cocky sonofabitch and had vice. In the opening of the game, he gets greedy and f*cks things up for his crew which results in one guy losing his arm. You can never imagine Connor acting selfish like that. If Connor was in that situation, he would have hung back and followed the plan and not done stupid things to ensure the welfare of his team and the completion of his objective. Now that I think about it if, this means that Connor could have been the greatest assassin the order has ever known due to his impeccable character. His commitment and devotion to the cause would almost be robotic, like inhuman. He could have empowered the order and did so many great things if needed. J-B
I loved Connor. He had a great arc. The reason he gets so much sh*t, I think, is because his story ends as he gets to peak of his maturity as an Assassin, and because AC3 was so broken as a game. Ezio had three games to follow his arc, 2(brash and angry young man), Brotherhood(him stepping up as a leader), and Revelations(his peak of maturity and knowledge as a grand master and as a man). Connor only had one game and they tried shove about as much story arc into it(young stab happy Assassin to mature experienced grand master), and we never really get to see him at his peak, only the build up. It leaves you wanting more and not getting it. Edward was handled so much better as a one game character.
xtro2000
technically the series hasn't really evolved since the first AC which was superb. After this we got only very small updates on the same game mechanics, physics, animations... parkour felt more and more jerky and unpleasant with each new instalment. this series has been aging a lot because of that. I hope that's what they change in Unity to make moving around a LOT more fluid. hopefully animation tech similar to "euphoria" will be more and more common this gen. Secura
Little late in saying this but to those who believe Connor was actually a decent protagonist, he wasn't, he was awful, bland and boring as they come. Coin
