Official Reason R* Removed "Replay" for Missions?

Customizer

Recommended Posts

That's why they removed the process of repeating missions, cause some missions were being able to be played short ie 5 minutes for a 9000 dollar hunk of change thus to combat people rolling in the dough they stopped letting you repeat them. Ie money.

Money.

How does that make sense?2 minutes loading time between all missions=less money for players+overspending=sale of more you know what...

Just add playlists and take away the ability to put in the same mission in twice.

How is that helping or fixing anything? This suggestion seems like it's just adding more restrictions...

They would have never allowed us to select missions from the start menu if that was their motive.

Or did they allow us to use the start menu as a way to get the monkey off their back?

"Hey, we let you pick the mission again, stop complaining."

When in reality they did it to also delay grinding.

To actually answer your question instead of just posting the typical forum bs conspiracy;

They originally said they removed the Replay button shortly after launch because the Replay button was originally made for VS/CO-OP missions not NPC missions (unless you failed apparently). The new start menu option came a few months after they made this decision.

No, not /thread. WHY did they only want replay for vs and co-op missions? Obviously they meant it to be that way, the purpose of this thread is to find the official REASON.

Because they want us to experience the exciting bold new direction of the game's sluggish loading screen and the intense dynamic of pressing the start button and hoping the loading circle ends quick enough to select the job and avoid the Entity that's hastily approaching you in reverse. In R*s mind this throttles grinding. :rol:

Because rockstar considers its not how they want the game to be played. to many here, anyone who replays missions are just as bad as hackers.

Im pretty sure this is the main reason. The diff with what the OP said is that it takes a little more time to replay a mission by returning to freeroam to reselect it than by just clicking replay. After redoing this a couple more times, R* suspects us to give up in replaying a mission since it takes so long.

I agree with grinding for something but not on the same exact mission or race that has the highest payout over and over again. Thats just messed up.

Why is that messed up? Rockstar chooses the mission difficulty (thus approximate time to complete) and the payout.

If they aren't okay with players making that much money...that's their fault. Lower the payout, don't be dicks.

Miss Malevolent

If we are allowed to select Online > Jobs > Host Job > Rockstar Created > Missions > (Name of Mission) immediately upon returning to Free Roam...why not just allow us to vote "Replay" for missions?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Rockstar actually dedicated time and effort to PREVENT us from voting "Replay"...

Simply allowing us to vote "Replay" would have required no action on their part after Online launched.

So why is it so important to Rockstar that we wait to spawn in Free Roam, then launch the mission again?

Because people bitch and moan about Farming. So this was their concession...make it more of a pain to farm.

Exactly..sometimes its their faults. Most times when game developers make something worth a lot more in the least amount of time than anything else (terminology for this is overpowered), then players exploit it. And thats messed up in itself.

grand theft spaghetti

because rockstar is a company of trolls.

the only thing funnier than watching you try to replay the same mission for months is making you wait 5 minutes to do it.

all the time saying heists coming soon.

There isn't one.

I think it's just oversight on Rockstar's part since they took away the replay button, and then added the missions to the start menu and they just kinda forgot that you might as well have a replay button now.

Looks like /thread to me unless you want to ignore facts and peddle your moronic conspiracy theory bullcrap. I really have to question why you don't sell your copy of GTA V if it cuases you so much anguish.

Answer: It makes grinding harder. That's right. They're trying to discourage grinding in a game built for grinding. :sigh:

(Some people here would also suggest that reduced grinding = reduced income = pressure to purchase cash cards).

:v: you have no life....we people with lives have other things to do like (baseball practice, tutoring, hang out with real freinds,etc)....im only able to play this game 30minutes a day, 3 times a week....while you sit on your fat ass all day and play games , Rockstar needs to come the f*ck down and relize that "ait nobody got time for all this bull sh*t" and that "people have real lives to live thats why i stopped playn, way wayyy too much bullsh*t

I'm just really paranoid that they'll disable the opportunity to replay missions as a whole.

I also want to know why they disabled Docks to Stocks 1 & 2.

They are still available. You just don't have them on your list because you haven't played them in ages. Get someone else who has them to host it for you and from then on they will be available to you.

Holy sh*t. 11 replies and I didn't read the words "Cash Cards" once.

so did you just not read the fifth reply on the thread then?? in case you missed it...

I read the fifth reply, but I didn't re-read it after he edited it to include the comment about "Cash Cards". Should I go back and edit my comment retrospectively as well?

To OP: No one here has the "Official Reason". No one here has any direct relationship to R*. We all know as much as you.

It's okay to replay missions, as stupid and boring as it is, but Rockstar doesn't want it to be too easy.

Um … very few people actually feel that way, from what I've seen. It makes no sense to think that people who replay missions are as bad as hackers, because GTA V is designed to have missions replayed. If not, then Rockstar would only allow each mission to be played a certain number of times. Plus, what's the difference between playing a mission over and over and doing the same with a bunch of different races, missions, death matches, etc?

Why does Rockstar not allow replays? Who knows? They keep making it harder for us to destroy tanks. It took them forever to allow the muting of players on the lobby screen. And I can still lock on to my buddy in a Buzzard. Rockstar has about a thousand trivial changes they need to make and this isn't on their "to do" list.

Rockstar needs to go back to the way IV was set up, where you could jump from one mission to another without going back to free mode … and where you could also be invited by a friend while in a lobby. The set up now is tedious and inconvenient.

I still think the best answer is to balance payout to time/difficulty better, still keeping the better missions at higher level logic.

Then people would simply do varied missions of their own level, as that would pay out the same per min.

No need for all these anti grinding shenanigans then ;-)

I don't think farmers are as bad as hackers, although it's not my idea of fun, but neither is nonstop freeroam!

Bit of this, bit of that, it's all good :-)

This sounds like R*, as it makes sense yet no sense at all.

By adding the button back it would have helped more than this. They're just adding one tedious step to farming.

...with the removal of the replay button it became much easier to make cash, so the "cash cards" brigade can suck my dick.

That's what perplexes me. Why not keep or should I say re-introduce the replay for missions if you allow us to pick missions from a list on demand?

The hope that players would do lots of different jobs rather than just soloing the same mission again and again and again?

It's not really worked though.

Then why won't they let us make playlists from our favorite missions?
