Car disappearance

I had an elegy that I've spent 100's of thousands of dollars on that disappeared, when i started the game, it set my personnel vehicle was destroyed, i call mors and nothing, so then i called my mechanic and it said my car was impounded. and when i went to the impound lot, nothing, can someone help me
