I'm from the south, and there's lots of dope boys and crazy ass rednecks. It all about money, cars and drugs in my neighborhood and that's what gta all about ain't it. Idk maybe y'all don't feel the same but I just love this dirty south culture and it just seem like itd fit the game perfect. Idk what y'all think?

Like GTA Vice City 2 with the suburbs being rural Florida/Georgia? That could be pretty fun.

I'd still rather it go back to Las Venturas/Sand Fierro back in the 70's

I'm kinda worried that they'll never make a GTA in anything other than LC, VC and LS. Also I'm pretty damn sure VI is in Vice City.

I would love it to be in Vice City but I have my doubts just because Vice City is small compared to LC & LS. I wouldn't mind a Vice City single player expansion though

VI is either vice city or it's all three cities in one map. Rockstar have actually had interest in this idea quite a while back.

Living in Florida, I can assure you it's not worth it. Nothing but old people in gated communities and trailer trash who stop f*cking their family for a few hours whenever the races are on.

Why not a GTA set in Canada, rather?

It would probably be pretty hard to do that. Imagine 3 fully detailed, big cities in one map. If they do that, they would probably use this multiple protagonist system again, one for each city or something. I can't wait to see what future GTAs have in store.

We wouldn't need the "all peds have weapons" cheat because they're already armed. Could be great with wide open spaces. Maybe add the Florida panhandle to ViceCity for a change of atmosphere.

HOW'S ANNIE?

Actually yes I do like the concept of a Texas based GTA. Variety wise you have deserts, beaches, forests, massive gleaming cities like Dallas or Houston, and then sh*tty run-down border cities like El Paso.

And I could imagine the protagonist could possibly be a Mexican hood, rising through the ranks and finally ends up as head of the Cartel.

To be honest I can see Rockstar picking a place with less street gangs. I think they'll be more focusing on lone wolves/stories centred around FIB. Kids get influenced by the whole glorified gang culture and their parents aren't going to be too happy. Despite rockstar being an 18+ game they're still trying to drag in the younger audience and cause the least amount of attention. It's just like smoking. Anyways that's how I interpreted GTA V. As it was less about criminal organisations and more about other stuff. So I can see future titles slowing weakening its associations with gang culture.

Now that I've typed I'm pretty sure this is a flawed opinion but I'm going to post it anyway.

I think it could work. The setting being New Orleans or Atlanta (better yet, a jazz fusion of both), imagine the atmosphere, New Orleans with its beautiful landmarks but dark criminal underworld, Atlanta with its crazy high crime rates and drug trafficking history, it could be great. However I don't know if R*'ll make GTAs out of these places, they're screwing the series over really.

I think it possible, why? because The State of Cottonmouth exist in the GTA-Verse,and Cottonmouth is an algamation of States like Louisiana,Texas,i will also would have included Florida, but that were Vice City is in.

Inb4 someone says "Blood stop saying sh*t" here is why i think Texas and Louisiana are under the state of Cottonmouth,i was watching the show Deadly 60 and the Guy travelled to Louisiana to find deadly animals, and he found a snake sub-species called the "Cottonmouth Snake" and it usually found alot in Louisiana, but that

my first theory and fact that GTA would visit Cottonmouth SOON :)

and here is some info in GTA Wiki: http://gta.wikia.com/Cottonmouth

If Rockstar ever started going in this direction with GTA I would boycott the series. GTA has always been about being a gangster (gangster meaning everything from the mafia, to street gangs, to bikers, etc) not a government spy. I can't see Rockstar going in this direction for avoid controversy simply because they've already stired up enough sh*t to no car whether kids want to replicate what they do in GTA. The only excuse Rockstar would use to make it like this is to meet the stupid, and unreal, expectation from fans to make every mission result in an explosion.

I personally think that a government story like we had in V could have worked in a Washington based game, but it seemed utterly out of place in Southern California. And I hope to god we never see a plot as dependant on political affiars again.

The grand theft auto series is making a satire of the american popular culture. Every group of individuals are portrayed in unfavorable light. This applies to entities as well. Do you really want southern people and their culture mocked, ridiculed and laughed at?

I would like to see the south in gta though, however not as a stand-alone setting, but as a part of a bigger setting, the america. In that way only the people with money would stand out to be rediculed.

na id say, it deserves it anyways.

New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston would be good, id also like to throw in El Paso and a border with Mexico in there as well. I dont think it would be asking too much to get that on PS4 or PS5. Cities could be about the size of GTA5 Los Santos.

Its one of the few locations that think would work well with a modern-ish setting - early 00's (no later).

Id rather keep Vice City for its own game with the everglades and the florida keys, set in the 80's of course.

Lock n' Stock

So many southern cities that can be used in a future GTA game. Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Memphis, it goes on and on. I'd personally like a Texas-based GTA game with two cities based on Houston and Dallas, would be brilliant. They could even add a border with a small portion of Mexico (e.g RDR).

Y'all come back now, y'hear?

I don't know if just Texas would work. I mean Dallas and Houston are pretty much the same, atleast to anyone not from Texas.

I also dont think Texas alone has enough for GTA.

if it is a one two combo, then Houston + New Orleans would be best.

but since none of the cities in the south are really big compared to LA or New York (they definitely dont have a much recognisable landmarks) i think 3 or 4 cities could work well - largest would be no bigger than Los Santos.

Atlanta, Nashville, Washington D.C? with some farmlands, Swamps, and Appalachia type mountains would be incredible. Hell even just a large recreation of Atlanta with a bunch of countryside would be good.

The Houston area is pretty f*cking big. About 7 million people. But it is pretty much all sprawling suburbs. But I think a map with Houston, NOLA, And Memphis or Atlanta would be interesting.

Washington D.C?

Is DC really part of the South? It may be geographically, but it's got that northern vibe from it, mostly from affluent surrounding suburbs.

That's true. Its more of a Mid-Atlantic city and about midway between north and south. I was just saying that it could be included as a third city in a game that is based mainly on the South. And then have the D.C city in the far north of the map and you have to go through Appalachia to get to it.

No point takling about the greater area though. Just in terms of the city, if R* were to base one of the cities off Houston - it wouldnt be very big since they wouldnt be recreating most of the suburbs.

It would be a stretch if they could make it as large as Los Santos in GTA5 (which is small - i was very dissapointed it wasnt bigger) without having it feel bland.

But that would be fine, the beauty of having several cities is that they dont need to be very big the same way it would if you only had one (again i was very dissapointed with GTA5's LS, hell San Andreas version was as big as it) to give the same sense of satisfaction - Thats what i think R* are forgetting (and why they are frightened of doing it).
