GTA racing vs NFS rivals

Is racing in GTA O, better than in NFS rivals?

From youtube vids I've seen... Sure looks like it!

Just so much abuse of flashy effects, nitro and shiz!

Anyone who agree or disagree?

Wouldn't it be funny if a pure racing game lost

to GTA?

No.

I have rivals and its alright game but it's racing is better.

I think racinging in GTA is better then forza horizon though. Horzion feels like a big f*cking bumper cars rally.

Edit: until R* Removes catch up and maybe fix slipstream, I refuse to call it "REAL" racing.

Last one I played was ProStreet.

It had more game modes and the drifting was definitely good. Drag racing was good and Speed racing was a new experience. In terms of Grip... Well, I think damage was bigger in NFS but it didn't cripple your car as in, limiting your wheels causing massive turn issues.

Customization is definitely better in NFS.

in GTA, slipstreaming is too unrealistic, there isn't much drifting capability, motorcycle steering is beyond unrealistic, damage physics vary on the situation but general driving?

I'll have to say Need For Speed.

Not fair to compare the two. It's like asking whats better for golf, Tiger Woods Golf or GTA?

Racing in GTA V blows. GTA IV's racing was a ton better then this.

If you like driving a car that feels like driving a monster truck in ice, sure.

ProStreet was the sh*t :D loved playing that and landing 1/4-mile long wheelies

Nfs is made for racing while gta is a mixture of everything, what do you expect?

Things are different than the ProStreet days now...Nowadays NFS is also crowded with supercars, there are no more of a normal tier cars in Rivals.

And oh,the challenger is op in drag racing if fully upgraded in ProStreet.

GTA IV's racing was so incredibly forgettable it isn't even worth mentioning tbh.

Oh and the PSX gen driving physics in GTA V are any better? It feels like playing another Saints Row game. At least it took skill to race in GTA IV.

I prefer racing in NFS, Most Wanted(original one) was the best in the series IMO plus it has loads of customizations

Comment makes no sense. It requires skill NOW to win races. Both are sh*t compared to a pure racer game like Forza and Gran Turismo.

You can call it skill, but driving in GTA IV was nothing short of an annoying chore. I'll take the physics in this game every day of the week and twice on sunday.

GTA is better for golf. I mean Tiger woods Golf doesn't allow me to sleep with 9 women in one night. They market it as Tiger woods golf and you can't even go around using your tiger wood. GTA However...

This always get said by people about GTA 4 and i don't get it.

Thats not what i remember about GTA racing unless i was driving a Dukes car. Gta 4 driving was pretty awesome.

The actual traction was better in GTA 4. If i drive full speed into someone id ruin my car and barely nudge the guy in front.

In GTA 5 if i ram someone full speed id barely damage my car and send the guy infront flying. As if that player was on ice.

Also... Gta 4 had no slop stream and catch up and speed boosts at the start of the race. Basically the cluster f*cker.

This. However R* tried to make racing more fun for people who can't break, steer or do anything but crash others up. And as you can see those people are happy now.

I always felt that every car had extreme understeer in GTA. I'm an oversteer guy, always have been because I feel that I'd rather go into a turn knowing I can make it and just manage it through rather than prep and hope it works out.

Maybe GTA IV worked for you because you prefer understeer, but I thought the cars of any type lacked control. Even at the top of the food chain.

 i remember that ep. When that whole tiger woods thing happend i joked that all TW games were being recalled and a new bonus level was being added where tiger runs from his wife in his escalade while she chases him with a golf club. Wii versions would come bundled with a mario kart wheel. Then SP does that ep and i'm like damnit i wish i could have done something like that.

You can recreate tiger woods golf in gta online with a cavalcade and a female character swinging a golf club melee weapon.

The only difference for me is in GTA V is have to lay off the gas to brake slowly. While in GTA 4 i had to use the brake after coasting. Infact that still messes me up because thats not how it should be. It should not auto break it should coast.

GTA V has amazing traction till you loose it. GTA 4 balanced between those two quite well. Ya it was a bit more loose but you also had a bit more grip.

But the real kicker will be the crash mechanics. The fact that i can ram someone top speed, transfer my speed to them and send then flying. That right that is the most annoying thing for me in GTA driving.

Don't forget, in Tiger Woods Golf you can't go around killing other players with a golf club, giving them the bird before running them over with a golf cart, getting drunk on Pisswasser and then trying to play like you've got this and after a successful day of up'ing your par and improving your overall score, there's always Infernus waiting for you at Vanilla Unicorn for you to score that extra hole in one...

You know what would be funny if someone made a spoof outta this online where someone dresses as tiger and his wife and put on youtube.

Played loads of racing games over the years and i'd say the racing side of GTAO is pretty good..

I like the way the cars handle, i think rockstar have done quite a good job, plus i still like the variety of offerings that GTAO has compaired to just a dedicated racing game...

And as for Slipstream and catch up, Slipstream isn't a problem if you know how to use it, handle your car and are prepared for people to try and ram you, and catch up is handy, and can make races more interesting imo, especially long ones..
